Christmas is Coming!

It is hard to believe that Christmas will be here soon! These December days are just flying by. Today I started doing some preparations for a lunch I am baking and taking to Birmingham tomorrow to share with Ben, Katy, Margaret, Baylor and Elliott.  Of course, Nana and Grandpa will be vying for some Baby time while we are there.  Ben and Katy asked for Parmesan Chicken Strips, Macaroni and Cheese, Broccoli Slaw and Can't Leave Alone Bars. It will be a yummy lunch with the family tomorrow.

This evening we will be going to our Sunday School Class Christmas Party. It is always fun with good food and a rousing game of Dirty Santa.  Sunday we will be attending Kendall and Landon's Christmas program at their church. These are the special times that I will hold in my heart forever!

Your menu sounds tempting! Now what are can't leave alone bars?

Can't Leave Alone bars are a bar cookie made from White Cake mix, two eggs and one third cup of oil. Mix all together. Put half in a 13 by 9 dish. Then make a filling of one can sweetened condensed milk, one half stick of butter and one cup of semi sweet chocolate chips. Melt this together over med heat on stove top. Stir well to mix then pour over the bottom cookie crust. Take remaining dough and roll between wax paper. Put it in the freezer for about ten minutes, then peel it off and place over chocolate layer. It does not have to be perfect! Then back at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes. Cut into bars while warm. They are VERY rick so I cut them into small pieces. I like to store them in the fridge as I like them better cold than room temp. I got the recipe from Mary Beth Rowe who is a host at QVC. She had several good cook books that QVC marketed back in the 90s.
