Christmas Ornaments for Our Soldiers

Yesterday at our November MOPs meeting we made Christmas ornaments and cards for Morgan County Blue Star Moms to send to our local soldiers.  We had a great time and I was about to get the big head because all the girls thought I was Martha Stewart!  I reminded them that I had been crafting since before they were born! But hey, who does not enjoy a little praise. Thank you Mother for teaching me the blanket stitch years ago as it came in handy yesterday!

We produced quite a pile of ornaments. In addition to the felt ornaments we did Twig Christmas Trees using branches and ribbon. I think we got this craft from Crafts by Amanda.....she is such a talented online crafter and shares her ideas with her blog readers.

Some ladies worked on stamping Christmas cards to include in the Christmas packages. Our little ones also made Christmas ornaments and I am sure the soldiers will get a kick out of those. The helpers in the Moppets rooms wrote down the children's thank yous to the soldiers as well and some were very sweet.  It is always good to remember these men and women who serve our country 365 days a year, giving up their holidays to serve their country.

How fun any what a great cause. The ornaments are so cute and it's a great reason to craft.
