Wedding Bells

It was a chilly 60 degrees in Savannah, Georgia on Saturday and the wind was blowing! But that did not keep the Grimm and Campbell families from enjoying a very sweet wedding for our Brittany and Caleb. Caleb is the son of Marvin's brother, William. He has always been a sweetheart and is dearly loved by everyone.  So here are some pictures from the wedding which took place at Red Gate Farm in Savannah.

As I said on Facebook...I think this is the first time I did not take advantage of a bottled water at a Savannah event.  Anyone who has been to Savannah knows that the temps along with the humidity can be killer! However on Saturday, hot chocolate would have been more appropriate for the day.

Even though they said there were No "sides", the Grimms were told to sit on the left!! Uncle Lee, Aunt Lanier, Uncle Marvin, Aunt Arlene and Aunt Mina, snagged premium seats. Isn't Marvin good looking in his seersucker suit? Every time I attend a wedding I cannot help but think of our wedding that took place almost 39 years ago.

Lee and Lanier were married on Memorial Day Weekend, 1976 while Marvin and I were married on Labor Day Weekend of 1976.

The venue was just lovely. Music played before the wedding...most were Disney songs as the happy couple is off to Disneyland and San Diego for their honeymoon. However in a nod to the groom's nerdiness, some music from the soundtrack of Lord of the Rings serenaded the guests as well.

Catching a glimpse of his bride!

They even wrote their vows!

The parents gather to pray with the young couple.

On the way to the barn for the reception, we snapped a few pictures. Here is Marvin with his second favorite Margaret Grimm...his niece, Maggie. Yes we have two Margaret Grimms in our family...what can I say? We love family names.

Maggie loaned me her bouquet so I could get a picture made with my sweet groom of 39 years.  Windy day equals messy hair but happy faces are all that matter!!

Tomorrow I will share some pictures from the reception in the Red Barn!!

Looks like a perfect day for a wedding. I would take the little chill over your summer hot humid days. When it's hot down there. Love you and your hubby's picture.

Debby, compared to what you are experiencing, I should be very happy with 60 degrees. Hope your house sells soon...all those showings must get tiring.
