For our Christmas Saturday with the Sisters, we enjoyed a presentation on Appetizers from the executive chef at a nice restaurant in Huntsville.

Chef Merle Phillips was very entertaining as she taught us about making and presenting appetizers for holiday parties. Chef Merle was trained at the American Culinary Institute and she admits she is a chef snob. She reminded us that the hosts of many of the Food Network programs are cooks and not chefs.:) When she was trained at the Institute, they learned to use their knives blindfolded. Oh my, I would have been fingerless!!
This was my favorite...a shrimp cake on Asian Slaw. Heavenly!!

Today is MOPs and then tonight is our Sunday School Class party. I am going to have to do lots of walking to keep off the pounds this December.
