Sister Love

My mother spends a lot of her time embroidering pillow cases. She enjoys giving them as gifts to special people. She does her handwork without a hoop, no magnifier and threads her needles with ease. It is amazing.

My sister, Leta, has taken up the craft as well. When we were at Grimmwood she gifted me with a set of Christmas/Winter pillowcases.

Aren't they jus precious? I love Redwork so this set of pillowcases was perfect for me.

I am thankful for my two sisters and I so enjoy spending time with them in Georgia. The first week in September we are all going to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. My mother will be joining us so it is a Tankersley Girls outing. I would ask for prayers for safe travels and good health while we enjoy this special time together.

I hope y'all have a wonderful trip. I can't believe your mom needs no magnifier and threads a needle with ease. I am impressed and that pillowcase is amazing. I do NOT enjoy doing that kind of needlework. I am not quite sure why. I think it is the perfectionist thing. I can't make them all even. I tried to do a table cloth once. I was over half way done when I just gave it away. It was not relaxing at all.

Robin, I love that set of pillowcases and will enjoy them in December. Sandy I do not like that kind of handwork either. I do not want to stitch the same design twice.

Oh, I love the redwork pillowcases, Arlene! I also have two sisters, but I'm the only one interested in needlework of any kind. I think I take after my grandmother as my mother did a bit of knitting, but nothing else. Grandma on the other hand, could do just about anything!

Have a great time in Pigeon Forge--I've heard there are so many fun things to do there!

The pillowcase is beautiful!
You are blessed to do things with your sisters and your mom. My mom has been gone for 13 years and we never really got a chance to do getaways because we all had young kids when she passed. Enjoy your time together!
