Saturday Stitching

This week my sweetheart and I have been enjoying the sea and sun in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

It is truly one of our happy places and September is the perfect time to visit. Lower prices and no
lines at the restaurants.  I was so happy to meet up with my friend, Sandy, at The Tin Cow in Pensacola for lunch on Tuesday. We talked about our two favorite things, Stitching and Family. Marvin quietly ate his hamburger and let us visit.:) He is a Keeper.

I did a lot of stitching this week but all are works in progress so I will share this piece that is almost finished.

My grands are going to love this one! I am thinking of making a flat fold and hanging it on my fridge.

Here is a stitching related product that was recommended by the talented stitcher and finisher,Vonna.

Vonna does finishing for many stitchers and she swears by this as the perfect wrinkle remover for your stitched items.  I picked some up at JoAnne's and I was very impressed with it.  Vonna says she buys it by the gallon. I can see why she is a fan!

And finally...my blog friend, Jean Farish, created some stitchy memes that had all of the stitching ladies of a certain age laughing their heads off...I will share two with you.

Of course Sam...whatever you say!

And Mark Harmon weighs in too...

You can find Jean at Stitchers Escapes.com. She arranges stitching retreats and you just might find one in your part of the country.

Well it is Saturday so I will be traveling back to NoAla. It has been a fun week but there is no place like home! Have a grand weekend friends.

Oh Arlene, you beat me to announcing our visit. I have been such a lazy blogger this week. I am headed to the farm this mooning, but may try to put in a post this evening before the game. So enjoyed seeing you.

How nice that you were able to meet up with Sandy and visit. Your grands are going to love your Halloween stitch! Great idea to put it on the fridge too! Never heard of the Best press but I'll certainly give it a try. Enjoy your weekend. Mary

I'm glad you have had a relaxing week and were able to just stitch away! Your piece for Halloween is very cute and you are right that the grands will love seeing it on your refrigerator! Always nice to meet up in person with our blogging friends! Safe travels home, my friend!

Arlene, the beach looks so serene. Was there any damage from any of the recent storms? I hope not.

Love your stitchery!!

Gina thankfully, Gulf Shores was spared any damage from the storms.

Arlene what a great trip you had. Nothing better than some time at the beach. We got back from five days in St. Augustine just in time for Irma. How great you got to meet up with Sandy...what fun!!!

Your stitch is fabulous and your grandchildren will love seeing it up on the refrigerator.

I will definitely give Fresh Press a try. I have alot of pieces I hope it works on. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever

RJ, Best Press really did make a difference especially using it on Linen...you know that can be tricky to work with if there are wrinkles. Hoping to finish The Most Wonderful Fright of the Year today. I have the Most Wonderful Feast of the Year kitted up.

I think the beaches in September are the best (well, as long as the hurricanes aren't visiting then, too!).

Cute little Halloween piece and how nice that you and Sandy met up--nothing like gabbing with fellow stitchers!
