Saturday was Homecoming at Georgia Tech and we were very glad to be able to enjoy the festivities. For a school that is located in downtown Atlanta, it has a lovely campus. At Homecoming Tech pulls out the stops to make sure the alumni have a great visit to their old stomping grounds.
We are not far from the Coca Cola headquarters. You know Coke was invented in Atlanta. If you are from Georgia, you are brand loyal!
The Trolley gets students around the campus in style.
You never know what you will see near the food lines...yellow jackets love good eats.
Our famous mascot, Buzz was welcoming all the fans.
We stopped near the stadium to enjoy a Chick Fil A sandwich for dinner before the game. Chick Fil A is another Atlanta product.
We got our picture made with the Wreck. This one is the Alumni car that is rented out for weddings etc.
Beneath the lights...its a great place to be on a Saturday evening. We played Wake Forrest and we were getting the business until the second half. Fortunately we pulled out a win!
No matter how old you are, you feel young again when you return to the places you remember from your youth. Speaking of which....
. This is an old picture of the Georgia Baptist Nursing School which was located on Boulevard in Atlanta back in the day. The school has been absorbed by Mercer University and is now located in Gwinnett County, a suburb of ATlanta. My old dorm is now apartments for students who attend Georgia State University which is in downtown Atlanta. It makes me a bit sad that I cannot go back to my old campus and remember the good old days! Tech guys and GBH nurses have made many good marriages over the years and I am happy to be one of them.
