Friday

On Friday we were headed to Duluth, Georgia to visit with some of our Grimm family. We took the back roads and enjoyed some Georgia scenery.

First we stopped in Ellijay for some Green Willow Soaps and apples from Panorama Orchards.

The square in Ellijay was decorated for Christmas.

This is a BIG tree.

Ellijay is Whoville this Christmas Season and the Grinch has been spotted lurking on the streets.

After leaving Ellijay we had lunch at 61 Main in Jasper GA.

Housed in an old movie theater we enjoyed the atmosphere. After a lot of turkey, we were ready for a Reuben( Marvin) and a Club Sandwich.  The desserts looked amazing but we resisted.

Three Generations of Grimms enjoyed visiting on the back porch at Nephew Will's home.

Nephew, Caleb feeding boiled peanuts to his daughter, Ella.

Hmmm...do I like these things or not?

A picture of the older Grimms...William, his wife, Barbara, Mina, me and Marvin. Mina is number one of six siblings. Marvin is two and William is four.  We had such a good time together but soon it was time to head back to Chatsworth.  Family time passes all too quickly.

It was fun seeing the Grimm family. I love little towns like Ellijay. Brewton and Monroeville are my little towns that I love to stop by.

I guess the jury is out on those boiled peanuts! LOL I had never heard of boiled peanuts until I was in my twenties (a long time ago). The first one I ate I thought was horrid. Then I tried another. Kinda okay. On the third, I was becoming a fan! I think it's an acquired taste. :-)
So nice you had family time. And so interesting to see things decorated for Christmas where there's no snow. We've oddly enough got no snow right now either, and it seems so odd to be decorating. :-)
