Snow at Grimmwood

One of the best things about having a vacation home on the family farm is that I have a dear brother in law who goes to turn off the water at the house when it is going to be in the teens! When we are there in the winter we always turn off the water before we leave but we were not expecting this kind of weather in December!! Thank you Bruce for being a life saver. I told someone the other day that Bruce's care for Grimmwood helps us to have peace of mind when we are not there.  The next best thing is having a sister who will go out in the elements to take pictures of the snowfall so that while we were in snowless Decatur, we could live vicariously through her photography. Thanks Kristi.

This just might be our Christmas card for next year! Being an early bird, my cards for 2017 have been mailed. I love the sunlight that is filtering through the woods.

Our driveway.

The view of the pond and the house.

Cousin Scott was out in the elements as well. He drove up to Mother's house to get these two pics.

You might remember this view that I posted several weeks ago..the grist mill stone is in the foreground.

The Barn...

It was beautiful while it lasted!  I am sure people will be talking about this Big Snow for weeks to come.

Wow! The photo of the barn is gorgeous! We always turn off our water when we leave and we have to do even more in NC (we add RV antifreeze). Have a beautiful week! Holiday hugs!

That picture is beautiful. I think it was snowy at the cabin. I should have called and checked with some of the neighbors as well. We turn everything off ---lesson learned after the tornado rampage that got Tuscaloosa. Our little area had an F4 that day. We were just very lucky.

What beautiful snow pictures, Arlene! I really like the one of Grimmwood with the light filtering through the trees.

Beautiful pictures! We had cold and wind here in North Texas, but no snow. Houston and close to Corpus Christi got snow! Go figure!

Any of those photos would make a beautiful Christmas Card!

Oh, what gorgeous photos of Grimmwood, Arlene--the first and third look like they could be on the front of a Christmas card. We finally got a tiny bit of snow today--very strange that all of you down south were getting more than us!
