Stitching Saturday

Welcome to Stitching Saturday....you know I had to get an emoji after seeing Sandy's at I Majored in Home Economics. I love that my emoji is thin and has no wrinkles. :) If you want to make one for yourself that you can use in Texts, blogs etc download the free app Bitmoji.

Now on to stitching....

I had a finish this week.

This piece is inserted into a tart pan that I picked up at Dixie Darlin in Pigeon Forge in September.  I will admit that this was NOT an easy finish. I had to fiddle with it quite a bit and I ended up using Priscilla Blain's idea of putting some fabric inside like a pie crust. This covers several of my errors. Now I know what to do the next time I stitch a tart...which will be in July when I do Betsy's Tart.  I put the tart pan on my grands table and he looks very happy skating there. I will admit I changed the pattern. Santa had a very creepy watering can that he was carrying as he watered the trees. I changed it to a snowflake. I love the freedom to re design some charts. I would have never changed a chart before I started watching Floss Tube.

Seeing the picture of Margaret I am reminded that today is her 8th birthday. We will be celebrating next weekend as she shares her birthday week with Elliott on the 5th and Daddy on the 6th. My oldest child will be 39...how did that happen?

I also had a new start.

I am leaving off the sun and moon and the lettering. I will add Foothills Farm to the area between the house and the barn. It will be going to Grimmwood at Foothills Farm.  I was just tired of stitching Christmas things and I was getting anxious about finishing some projects so I loaded them all into a big Cracker Barrel Gift Bag and  I will work on them as I desire. They should be done by next Christmas!!  Prairie Schooler Designs have always been my favorites and I just calm down stitching their charts.

And look what came in the mail this week...

My stitching friend Sandy M from Missouri, sent me this set of Christmas Rules by Lizzie Kate Designs. I have not decided if I will stitch them together or separately. I am seeing a bowl or basket filled with little pillows and ornaments to coordinate with the charts.

What a cute idea to make little pillows to display in a bowl or basket!! Your stitching talent is to be applauded! I think your idea to leave out the sun and moon and change the lettering in your new project will be perfect at Grimmwood. First of all, I don't have the patience to stitch, and second, if I did try it, I could never change the pattern. Can't wait to see your finished pieces - even if they aren't done until this time next year!

Your emoji is definitely you. Aren't they fun? I have put my Christmas stitching away for now as well. I like for stitching to be stress relief. I I keep stitching Christmas, I think I will feel rushed. That is the way I go with those cardinals this past Christmas. I think the rules would be cute separately as well. I love the idea of Foothill Farms with the PS piece. That will a fun piece.

Arlene what fun projects you have done or will be doing. Your gift is such a pleasing set of rules and I love your idea of separate pillows in a bowl. That will look so cute. I love PS patterns and your idea for yours is going to be great. I have that Santa pattern and I didn't even realize it was an ugly watercan...I thought it was an ugly snowman in his hand. I also chose not to use it. Love that cute lady that greeted us at the top...so much fun! RJ@stitchingfriendsforever

Robin,,,,I just found your comment in my junk mail. I marked that you are not Junk Mail so hopefully all your comments will get to me. I have this happen every now and then and I am not vigilant about checking my junk mail before I delete it. Thanks for your sweet comment. I will do better in the future.

Great emoji, it looks like you!! You are fortunate to have beautiful skin...

Great finishing on the tart, that's in my to do pile and now I have to go back and look at the pattern. I just started to make changes on patterns and it's fun to add your own touch. How nice of Sandy to send you that adorable set and I would love to see them as smalls in a bowl too.

Happy Birthday to Margaret!

Arlene, thanks for letting me know. Part of me was wondering if I was landing in the junk/spam file. I enjoy reading your blog posts and seeing all that you share here.
