Saturday Stitching

This will be a short post today. I had two finishes this week and I finished three smalls. All were patriotic so I will share them next Saturday. I guess I am rushing the season but I am tired of all my spring stitches and I packed them away and got out the old red, white, and blue.

Before I share my finishes, I will show you my wire basket at Grimmwood.

I found this tiered wire basket at Piper Classics. I have found many of my country decor for Grimmwood at Piper.  You can see a small china cow in the top tier. It was a another gift from my friend, Susan. She collected cows for many years and she was culling her herd!:) Susan raised cows when she was in 4 H.

Here is a close up!

Now for my finishes...

This is Prairie Schooler's Up on the Rooftop.  I had been working on it last fall but put it away for a while. I am taking it to be framed.

And my patriotic finish that I love...

Happy 4th by Threadwork Primitives.   And I also have an FFO.

I love the pom pom trim!!

I also had a nice surprise on Tuesday when the UPS man dropped a large envelope at my door. It was a package from my friend, Sandy in Missouri. She passed the stash to me and I was so excited to receive so many nice charts. Thank you so much Sandy. It made my day!

Happy Stitching Friends!!

Love the wire tiered basket, Arlene! Both of your finishes are lovely! I like the way you finished the patriotic piece by Threadwork Primitives. Did you use the called for threads? Enjoy your day!

Susan culling her herd ... that's hilarious!

Love the tiered basket and all of your finishes. I love Up on the Rooftop especially, but the patriotic ones are lovely also.

Have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Robin, I used Colour and Cotton floss for the blossoms but I think the rest were the called for colors. Lately I have been trying to use the threads I have rather than purchasing more so if I have something that is a close match, then I just use it. I have become less OCD with my stitching since watching Floss Tube and finding that it is ok to change the colors.lol

Your PS finish is delightful, Arlene--what wonderful colors you chose! And the tiny patriotic finish is so cute--I need to stitch that one, too :)
