Something New

My new sofa arrived yesterday and I am loving it.  It is so comfortable that I realized how worn out my old sofa was! We get used to things, good things and bad things without being aware of our situation.   Marvin is taking my drum table to the refinisher tomorrow. Once it is done, I have spruced up the living room enough for now.

I have also been getting back to my walking routine. I got a new Garmin step tracker and I am working my way back up to my 8000 to 10,000 steps per day.  Let me tell you, I quickly realized how being inactive during my injury had affected my stamina.  Again, we just get used to our situation without realizing it is not the ideal situation.

You would think that breaking a bone would not be a big deal. Put in a pin, wear a splint and get on with your life. I have to say it was eye opening to me how this injury did affect my whole body. It took me a while to get over the anesthesia, then using just the right side of my body to lift etc, caused my back to hurt! Truly, every part of our body works together for our best interest.  It brings to mind I Corinthians 12 where Paul reminds us that the church is like a body.  It makes that Scripture very real to me these days.

Well enough preaching for now!:)  We are heading off to our Happy Place. I am planning on some porch sitting, reading and watching The Crown!

You are so right about the body all working together - and hurting together! My anesthesia took forever to wear off, and now I have an inflamed lung - from being bumped during the heart procedure. It's all related, isn't it? Take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon. I wish we could sit on the porch and rest together. My teenager is moping my floor as I type this. Almost worth the pain to see him do it!!!!

I love the new sofa! You are right about how we get used to things, then when they are changed we wonder how we didn't notice it!
Good for you for walking. I need to get back at it too. (And I have no excuse like you did)

We pick our son up at the airport Monday afternoon and will take him back to the ranch where we will stay for a couple of days. Dean is in Washington teaching a Karatebevent. Love our Happy Places!
