Stitching Saturday

I thought I would do a Works in Progress today. I have two Christmas Cross Stitch Projects that I have decided to take to Grimmwood and I will work on them when I visit there and no more lugging a stitching bag with me on our trips.

This is my Christmas Quaker....it will probably take me a year or more to finish this one. I am stitching it on 14 count Aida with Classic Color Works Cupid and Classic Color Works Pine. I do enjoy stitching on it as Quakers never leave you bored!!

Another Christmas Stitch that will probably be done fairly soon and then I can work solely on the Quaker.

I do enjoy this one as well and lettering tends to go pretty fast so maybe by spring it will be done.

Onto my Winter Stitching.

I started Bleu Skin by Plum Street.

I am stitching it on 28 count Arctic. I am stitching one over two for a more primitive look. I am not sure how I will finish it but hopefully it will be on display for Washington's birthday in February. Bleu Skin was the name of President Washington's favorite horse.

And lastly, Brenda Gervais' FROSTY.( Jolly Happy Soul is the name of the chart)

I am stitching it on Tin Roof and I am using only three colors. Cupid, Pine and Bright White.  I am not stitching the little cardinals that are one over one. I am replacing them with small snowflakes.  Classic Color Works Cupid and Pine are highly variegated and I think they are perfect for this piece. I also changed the brown FROSTY to a red FROSTY. I love these brighter colors in the dark winter days.

Hope you are making your Stitchy Wish lists...I had one on 123 Stitch as stitching is my favorite.

I love them all! Frosty is perfect for January! I'm going to start something new today. It's fun to choose a new design. (I bought a cross stitch book used) Enjoy your weekend!

You always come up with the best ideas. I think I will pick something and just leave it at Auburn to work on then I won't be lugging that bag with me all the time. I love everything you are working on. That Quaker stitch will be so pretty on Aida. I think those like the PS stitches look so crisp and neat on the Aida.

Oh Arlene, your WIPs that you featured are lovely. I love both of your Christmas stitches. The colors you are using for your Quaker are so vibrant. I love your color conversion of "Frosty". Enjoy your Saturday!

These all look amazing!! If I had the patience for stitching, I don't know if I could work on several things at a time. I would need to push ahead and just finish one before starting the next. But... I know not to even start this because I just don't have the patience. Always amazed at your beautiful work!

Brenda check out 123 Stitch online as well as Down Sunshine Lane. Both have great customer service. Kitten Stitcher and Gulf Coast Stitches as well as Jenn's Stitching Niche on Etsy are great online stores.

Hi, Arlene!

Oh, that Silver Creek Samplers chart is one of my favorites! I have been eyeing it for a long time. Looking forward to seeing your finish. Also, I picked up the "Frosty" chart on our recent trip to Oregon, when I got to visit a real life needlework shop! I absolutely love how you changed the colors. That red is amazing. I will have to remember that when I start that one.

Have a wonderful week! Hugs from Idaho...

I love them all!! I'm working on one for February! I am a slow stitcher, it will take me until then to finish.

Love all of your stitching Arlene. I especially like the changes in color you made to Frosty. We have that chart and I think I will do the same when I stitch it. But, I will keep the cardinals as I love them. RJ

My favorite post each week, Arlene! I do love all of your WIPS and upcoming projects. I've had Jolly Happy Soul in my stash for quite a while now, but haven't started. I love the red that you are using--it does look happy :) And that Quaker is lovely, too with the Cupid thread. I'll have to see if I have that in my stash.

Hope you enjoy this last little bit of time before Christmas. I'm looking forward to sitting down a bit more this week and doing some stitching :)
