Winter Wonderland

We are really missing our visits to Grimmwood so sister, Kristi, sent me these photographs. The first one was made last week.

I love the way the clouds and the sun are playing on the mountaintop.

This was yesterday. While the valley did not get any snow, the mountains look so pretty. This is Grassy Mountain. Marvin, ever the comedian, said it should be Snowy Mountain.

And finally a picture from Cousin Scott.

I loved the picture of this fluffy cardinal enjoying the snow.  I often think what a blessing cardinals are in the dark winter days. They brighten the landscape and lift the spirits. Thank you God for giving us beauty to enjoy in every season.

Awww...what a special post, Arlene. I loved both pictures of Grimmwood...and the Cardinal on the snowy fence is so pretty. I agree with you...they do brighten up the dark days of winter. They have been flying in and out to our feeders and with the white background of our snow, they create a breathtaking sight.

Beautiful! Once Sherry sent me a photo of the camper. We had not been there in months and she said, "See? Your camper looks lonely. She's missing you and so are we." I know Grimmwood is your happy place and I hope you get to go soon. Still praying for Marvin's back.....

So pretty! I love that first photo of Grimmwood. You should frame it.
PS - just something I noticed. I wonder if it's a Southern thing. You always talk about a picture being made. We say a picture is taken. Have you noticed that? Is it a regional thing, do you think?

I would miss Grimmwood too. Would love to have a place like that to go to...so serene and lovely. Oh my do I ever love that photo of the cardinal that Scott took. Might I have permission to copy it? Cardinals have a very special meaning to me and I would love to view that one every day. RJ

Those are beautiful pictures. It's nice to see pictures from other parts of the country since all I'm seeing here is snow!
