Friday Five

1. Air Band B

We are looking forward to a trip to NC for our niece's wedding in November and we booked this Air B and B for our stay. Hotels are quite expensive in this area so this little cottage was perfect for the two of us.

2. History Lover

Landon has become very interested in WW2 history so Grandpa gifted him with with WW2 army cap that Papa wore in the war.  Papa got to Europe on Day D plus 12. He was part of the Army that liberated France and Germany. Like most WW2 vets, he seldom talked about his heroic acts.  He did tell us that all the French women were kissing them as they rolled into the towns.

3. Valentine

My first Valentine this year is from a sweet blog friend who is very busy in her own life right now so I really appreciate her thoughtfulness.

4. 31 bag

At our stitching retreat we were able eo attend a 31 party where this bag was shown. It is a tote insert....great for those big purses. However I wanted mine for a small stitching bag.  I love my Nanaland hast tag.

5. My New Project Bag

My blog friend as well as real life friend, Sandy, at I Majored in Home Economics, sent me this beautiful project bag that she sewed with her own two hands! She really did major in Home Economics.  Isn't it just gorgeous???? I told her it was perfect for my spring stitching.

Oh, I hate that crease when you mail it. I wonder how people keep that from happening? IS the interfacing not thick enough or do you think they use something else?
Oh well...look at me finding faults.
I love that Landon is interested in history. I love it myself. Jeff's dad went in I think D Day plus 1. He said there were dead bodies floating everywhere and he figured he was a goner. We can never ever thank our military personnel enough.
I love your #nanaland.
I can't wait to see how you like the b and b over a hotel.

Enjoyed this week's Friday Five! I really like the 31 bag one, Arlene. Does it have a specific name or just bag insert? What a gorgeous project bag you received from Sandy! Lovely print! It makes my heart happy to hear that your grandson is showing an interest in history. Enjoy your Friday!

Wonderful Friday Five! Wow - that project bag is lovely. Sandy is talented!

Love the 31 bag, too. #Nanaland is perfect! Gorgeous Valentine. I love the vintage ones.

Wonderful gift for your grandson. He looks very proud to have it.

We found the perfect home-away-from-home on the Oregon Coast through AirBnB. So much nicer than a hotel room since you can save money by preparing your own meals and having the comforts of home.

I love your new bag!
The picture of Landon reminds me of one I have of our son Andy, when he was about 4. He was wearing my Dad's army hat, that looks a lot like that. He was in the army in the late 50's. Andy was always so interested in planes and WWII, and ended up in the army, working on Apache helicopters. Who knows what Landon will end up doing!

Love your Fridayfive posts and this one was filled with gifted wonderfulness!! Love that bag Sandy sent you, sweet little birds on it!! Your nana bag is wonderful!! I didn't know 31 did embroidery. Sweet old fashioned V card!!! That is wonderful that Landon is interested in history. My father was in WWII and never talked about it. He received a Bronze Star but you could never get him to talk about the war.
My husband and I saw They Shall not grow old last night and it was excellent. A documentary about WWI if you haven't heard of it. Told just from the voices of the WWI soldiers and footage from the War, if you see it you must stay for the last 30 minutes about how the director transformed the footage over 4 years!!

What a beautiful bag from Sandy! I love it! And how proud does Landon look with the army hat from WW2--a truly special heirloom for him.

I am a real Airbnb lover. We always stay in them, especially on family trips as I love the bonding experiences that happen when you aren't each stuck off in your separate hotel room. We have stayed in them all over the world and really they have all been an adventure and very well kept :)

Landon is such a cutie. I'm very impressed that he has such an interest in WWII history. Good for him. So true about WWII vets. My Dad was there too and he never spoke of it.

That is a gorgeous bag from Sandy made with love.

Your Nanaland bag is quite wonderful too. RJ
