Friday Five

1. Blast from the Past Pic

On our wedding day....one of my friends on FB said, "Y'all look so happy!" I told her well we were young, thin, dark headed and on our way to Disney World. We should be happy!!

2. My new iPhone

I got the mint green phone along with the mint green otter box.  My otter box has a built in pop socket. Little things make me happy.  And Happy Valentines Day to me!

3. Southern Lady

Oh how this magazine lifted my spirits this week. It just says spring doesn't it? If you are not familiar with this magazine you should look for it. It has become my new favorite magazine even over SL...sorry Southern Living.

4. New shoes

I had been eying this for a while in my Coldwater Creek catalog and I had a coupon so I went for it. The brand is Chocolate Blu and they are so comfortable and stylish.  Katy tells me Chocolate Blu is a fashionable brand....I just liked the way they looked.

5. Apple Pie for two

Well really any kind of pie for two will do. I picked up this mini pie plate at Mud Daubers Pottery in Brevard NC when we were there for Maggie's wedding. Well I finally put it to the test this weekend and it was delicious and the perfect portion for two people. This would also be good for warm dips as well. I just love pottery. I always try to go to Mud Dauber when in NC. Another favorite pottery of mine is Ayers Pottery in Hannibal MO. I order from them online occasionally.

Hope all are having a Happy Valentines Day. I received cards from several sweet readers. Thank you so much  for your thoughtfulness. I did not get any cards out this year except to the grands and a few local friends. Next up St Patrick's Day!!

Lovely couple. Sweet. Haven't seen those shoes but are darling. What a great idea for the pie for two.

Sometimes you just have to get a new phone and it is a good thing to enjoy.
I love the shoes. They do look very comfy. You know I don't think SL is even managed by a southern company anymore. I think it is the same publisher as Better Homes and Gardens. It is not the same magazine and I noticed this year that it is way thinner and going to a different publishing schedule. January and February were a combined issue. I thought I was the only one who got their December issue the week of Christmas, but I was not. I think it is on its way out. Very sad! It was a mainstay of my life. I loved it so and looked forward to its arrival. I don't think it is an age thing. Ok enough of my rant about SL. Have a great weekend. Might need socks again:)

You brought warm thoughts to a very cold day here in Ohio. Is today your anniversary too? We are celebrting 49 years today. The shoes are adorable, I have never heard of them. Thank you so much for sharing your life, and such great ideas. Have a Happy Valentine's Day my friend:)

You were a gorgeous bride!!! I love your dress, I miss the long sleeves on brides, the look was so much more elegant than all the bare skin exposed today. Cute, cute shoes!! I will look for Southern Lady, I subscribed to Southern living for years, it was my favorite magazine and then it changed. Such a cute apple pie plate, I love the fluting. I never sent Valentine cards out and I feel bad about it...being a cardmaker and all!! I tell you I always feel like I'm behind on everything.

What a super Friday Five that I get to read on a Monday! Your pie dish is a beauty. I will have to look for Southern Lady. Wonder if they have it at Barnes & Noble. Cute shoes! Enjoy your Monday, Arlene!

Such a sweet photo of you and Marvin! Young love at its finest :) Those early years together are so very special as you set the foundation for your marriage...

Your new shoes are very cute. I have such trouble wearing flat shoes, though--am fine with sandals, but really struggle with the comfort of enclosed shoes. Hope you enjoy them!
