Saturday Stitching

Well after finishing several things last  week, this week has been less that stellar in the stitching department. I am writing my blog post early as we will be heading to Grimmwood and I only have this to show you.

Once I started on this piece I could not put it down. And yes, I did finish it but it is not an FFO yet. Maybe next week! As I have said before, Frosted Pumpkin is cute but not really my style. However their seasonal charts did call out to me.

And I guess I am off the stitch from Stash train as it is my Birthday month, that means birthday money from family and friends so I can just order a few things that have been on my wish list. So far this is the only chart I have ordered.

I got this from Jen's Stitching Niche and she helped me choose a fabric that is not black. Nope, not going on the black train. I have learned my lesson there.   This will probably be displayed at Grimmwood in the summer.

Here are a few other charts I am considering....

Valerie at Stitching in the Barn enabled me on this one. I saw it in her Stash Dive! Lots of the floss tube stitchers are showing their stash and it has not been a good thing for me.  We all know I have no self control in this area.  But you could get THREE ornaments out of this chart.

I love these little Squares...a quick and fun stitch.

Well I have Two White Houses and Two Red Houses so why not blue?

Speaking of my love for houses....

Waxing Moon is another favorite of mine.

For my birthday stitch I will start Kringles.

I have had this for a while and I thought I would save it for my 65th birthday stitch. Not sure it will be completed this year but slow and steady wins the race.  I had thought of changing it up to the Rich's Store of Atlanta but after some thought I changed my mind. For one thing, this is not an inexpensive chart, fabric and floss. So taking a risk is just not worth it to me. Going by the chart, I will get what I liked about it when I first saw it online.  I have decided to start in the middle for a change. I usually start at the top and work down but I know I would get tired of that roof and snow. White stitching is never fun.

So there are some of my plans for the future. We will see how much I accomplish this year. 2020 has certainly been one for the books so far!!

Enjoy Grimmwood and your stitching.

It is so hard to watch and not want...I have taken to writing the titles down and waiting a week to see if I really wanted it. IT helps SOME, but not foolproof. The stitch is adorable. Have fun and enjoy the family.

Your strawberry piece is looking good, Arlene! And thank you again for telling us about their paper chart offerings. Mine arrived on Thursday and I was impressed with the quality. Looking forward to seeing your fabric choice for the truck stitch! Enjoy your time at Grimmwood!

Priscillas chart will be so bright and cheery for Grimmwood! There is no way I could think of tackling Kringles, I love it and will enjoy it vicariously via you! I love houses but hate stitching them!! Your completed stitch is adorable and looking forward to seeing how you finish it.
3 ornaments for the price of one? Go for it!! I am always a stash enabler!

I love houses too, and birds which is probably why I stitch so much Blackbird Designs. If you really wanted to stitch on black try Tula and use Perle Cotton. Kringle's has been calling to me but I have way too much Christmas already stitched and way too much stash anyway!

"2020 one for the books so far" -- truer words cannot be said. It's like the Twilight Zone, so many changes.

This post was chock full of eye candy and I enjoyed it so much. My copy of "Knee High by 4th of July" came in the mail a couple of days ago. I hope to get to that flag by the 4th of July. Thanks for the inspiration!
