Friday One

Instead of Friday Five I am doing Friday One....

As many of you know we were supposed to go to Gulf Shores next week for our annual anniversary trip. Well Hurricane Sally put an end to those plans as she roared ashore in the little beach town we love so much. Pictures from Gulf Shores show much devastation and my heart aches for those who must now pick up the pieces.

We spoke with our landlady there and she said she has not been able to get to the condominium to assess any damage. She was told by other home owners in the complex that there was damage to the pool and the entrance way.  She has no openings for later in the season so we will miss our trip this year.  So we may plan a trip in October to visit the Creation Museum and the Ark.  Or we may just stay home. 2020 is the year for going with he flow for sure.

So instead we will head to Grimmwood and stay there Monday through Thursday to allow my sisters to have some time to get away.

It is not the week I had planned but it is the week God had planned for me. I have learned over the years to trust his providence.  My mother is getting older, who knows how much more time I will have with her. And with Covid we have all been reminded that life is a blessing and we need to cherish each moment we have with family and friends.

So I will post a Stitching Saturday but I am going to take off next week as I had planned. See you the 28th.

I am very sorry that your trip got messed up. I am with you...2020 is the year to just give up plans and go with the flow. I hope you have a wonderful week and some cool mountain air fills your soul. This has been a tough year and has made me so grateful for every single small blessing.

Arlene, I am so sorry you had to cancel your trip. However; I would like to say this might be a great time to plan your trip to the Creation Museum & Arc. The fall colors will be wonderful coming up thru Kentucky. Places are starting to open up in Ohio and Northern KY. You just have to wear a mask every where. Sandy is right just go with the flow:) Take a deep breath, and "let God surprise you" I will miss your posts next week. But, I know you will have lots of great things to post when you get back.

Arlene, I am sorry that Sally has caused you to have a change of plans, but I really believe that this is the Lord's way of saying now is not the time. I hope you have a wonderful few days at Grimmwood -- taking in the fall air, spending time with your Mother, and simply just being. Thinking of you!

So sorry, Arlene--yes, you just can't count on anything for sure this year! What a year... I know you'll have some lovely relaxation time at Grimmwood and that will be nice for your sisters to have some time away. Take care now and I'll look forward to your Saturday Stitching update ♥

I was so sad about the hurricane and thought about you and your favorite spot to vacation. I'm so sorry for all who had damage and for you with your change in plans. You are right, though, that we do have to just go with the flow - especially in 2020. Enjoy your time at Grimmwood!!

I love your attitude, Arlene. I pray for you and your mom....it is a season we all pass through as daughters. It's good you can be there and give your sisters a break. I was never primary care for our mother but I did help out and gave my sisters as much suport as I could. Love and prayers for you and your mom and your family....
