Saturday Stitching

First of all a giveaway as promised! In honor of the month of October I am gifting this Madame Chantilly chart to one of my readers. Please do not use the word giveaway in your comment but answer this question. Who is your favorite cross stitch designer. You must be 18 to win and you must live in the continental USA. Good Luck!

I did have two finishes this week.  Elliott's Christmas ornament is stitched!

My version of Chelsea and Priscilla's Trick or Treat is done.
And it is fully finished as well. I started with a spider web from Dollar Tree.
Then I mounted the stitch on foam board covered with batting. I added another piece of foam board covered with this cute fabric.
It is Hocus Pocus...purchased from Simple Stitches Fabric store online.

And here is the finished piece.

I hung it on the dining room mirror cute. I did not do the top border of candy corn as charted on the design. I changed her skirt from black and white check to a purple gingham. And I had to stitch her shoes in red as a fan of Wizard of Oz must do! I used my own flosses for the pumpkins. Several are Colour and Cotton from my stash.  Oh and I left off the pumpkins on her skirt. I did not think they were necessary and stitching gingham is hard enough without having to add  pumpkins to it. If I ever do Floss Tube, my title would be The Lazy Stitcher. :)

I had one start. Feast of Friendship by Blackbird Designs.

Queen Victoria is supervising this stitch.

And if you are looking for a cute freebie. Cathy Habermann of Hands on Design released one.

Go to her webpage to get the free download.  Cathy is always so generous with freebies. I appreciate her care for her loyal customers.

That is all for today. North Alabama Stitchers will be meeting on Monday. Our leader found a party room nearby that will allow us to stitch together while socially distanced.  It does cost each of us a reasonable fee to stitch for the day but believe me, it is worth it to be with fellow stitchers.

Happy Stitching! Don't forget to enter the giveaway.

I wish I could enter the contest but you are the only stitcher I know! Everything is so cute and Halloweeny! Nice work.

I love your finish for Trick or Treat...what a cute idea! It looks great hanging from the mirror.

It's very hard for me to pick a favorite designer as I enjoy stitching many different kinds of projects.

With Christmas approaching I will pick "Heart in Hand Needleart" because I love stitching the Wee Santas.

Arlene, I always enjoy seeing your pieces in progress as well as your completed ones, you inspire me so much since I seem to love so many of the same pieces that you do. My favorite designer might be Cathy Haberman today, but it might be someone else tomorrow.

Arlene, you have so many great ideas today! I wish I could find all of those little goodies at our Dollar Tree, their selections are just so limited. I am sure Queen Victoria would be absolutely fascinated with your stitching as well. After all I don't think she had the fabric options and the beautiful threads to choose from. I think she would just love your blog, you bring so much joy. Thank you so much for sharing. Many blessings to you and yours:)

Love your witch finish along with Elliott's ornament, Arlene! Your start on Feast of Friendship is beautiful. What color did you use for Feast? I hope you have an enjoyable weekend. Have fun with your North Alabama stitching friends on Monday.

It's so enjoyable to see what you are accomplish so much! I don't have a favorite designer but enjoy stitching most things with chickens...I have 12 'girls' (chickens). Also, I like fall designs because it reminds me of cooler temps and the colors are so, brown, gold, and green. I just finished 'Pumpkin Hollow" and love it. Patty McDonald

Haven't cross-stitched in years but looking at Heart in Hand patterns and loving them! Have knitted simple things for years, but arthritis is not happy with knitting right now. Considering trying cross-stitch again - so many cute patterns!

My favorite cross-stitch designer? That’s a tough one! So many great designers out there. I’ve probably stitched more Plum Street Samplers than any others, but Prairie Schooler is timeless and a very close second. Who is your favorite?

Your version of Trick or Treat is great! And I love your finish. The spider web is fantastic! I saw that fabric on Simple Stitches. Great choice!

Your grands’ ornaments are coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing them all done.

I’m working on a Blackbird Designs pattern now, too. I’m stitching some of the stockings from ‘Tis Halloween. They’re small and simple and lots of fun.

Take care, Arlene!

Meg my favorite of all time would be Prairie Schooler but Brenda Gervais and Blsckbird Designs are my current favorites! Can’t wait to see your stockings!

I enjoy doing smalls, so this chart would be a nice challenge for me. I am currently enjoying Stone Street Stichworks, but I really love following Pinker n Punkin Quilting & Stitching. She has the cutest free smalls, but claims not to be a designer. I love your clever Spider Web finish!

The dollar tree spider web finish is great.

My favorite designers is Lori Markovic, La D Da, though Madame Chantilly is also favored. I have several in my stash waiting their turn.
