I did not get a lot of stitching done this week. I ran out of thread on both of the pieces I was working on and I will have to wait until the floss arrives to continue. First is The Bunny.
Sorry for the photo quality. I snapped a photo as I took it off the q snaps the other night. I think she might be a pregnant bunny as that dress is pretty big! I am using Rain Shower by Classic Colorworks for the blue dress. I love the subtle variegation. I just have the dress to complete along with the grass at the bottom so not much longer on this one for my friend, Deborah.
I am working on this one for my sister in law for Christmas. It is the Prairie Schooler Farm Animals. On the chart the sheep is black but I changed it to a white sheep and I am using Classic Colorworks Tea and Biscuits for the wool. I love how this one is turning out.
The mailman brought me some happy mail from Sandy at I Majored in Home Economics. Sandy stitched this and her finish was adorable. I am putting it away for next fall when I am stitching from stash. ( Ok, like we all know how that has worked for me in the past....I better just say I am stitching it next year.)
I had two pieces of haul.
I ordered the first of the Shannon Christine Christmas ornaments. She did a club this year and I thought of joining it but the first set of ornaments were the only ones that really appealed to me. I already have her ornament Jingle Bells that I plan to stitch as well.
Now for a special piece of haul.
If you are like me you cannot believe that the 20th anniversary of 9-11 is coming up next year. My sweet stitching friend, Georgia , is hosting a SAL to commemorate this date. You probably remember seeing the photograph of the priest, Mychal Judge, being pulled from the rubble of the 9-11 site. He was the chaplain for the fire station who had been called to the scene. Father Mychal could have stayed home but he went with his men as he said it was his duty and call. T He died of blunt trauma to the head while ministering there that day. This prayer is Father Mychal's prayer and legacy. To join this SAL, you will stitch this piece in 2021 and complete it by September 11th, 2021. This is the Instagram hashtag...#mychalsprayer. I am collecting my fabric and fancy flosses. I plan to use all the called for colors for this one.
Now for the Giveaway Winner...Janice Sansome won the Madame Chantilly chart. Her favorite designer is Cathy Habermann of Hands on Design. Congrats Janice. Please send me your snail mail address...firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope all of you are having a good stitchy week. My plans are to work on a few more Christmas ornaments then I will get to my samplers with a focus on the finish for Riley Harbor.
