Our Space Cadet

When Kendall graduated from Space Camp, Grandpa made the bad joke that now we have a space cadet in our family.

Last week, Kendall had the opportunity to attend Space Camp in Huntsville. She had a blast as we thought she would. This girlie loves science and she knew right away she wanted to be the pilot on the shuttle!  She was the pilot only to find out the commander is the big boss.:)

The graduation was very organized, which speaks well for Space Camp! Marvin was able to drive over from work and he was very impressed with the smoothness of parking, etc.

With her space camp counselor.

With Mommy.

And with her proud  Grandpa. By the way they are standing in front of the decontamination station!  Kendall was quick to let Grandpa know that! She likes to inform Grandpa of things she knows that he may not. And BTW, Grandpa knows a lot about science.

It is fun to see the grands grow and develop interests that may lead to a future occupation.

I am so glad she got to do this. It is amazing. I did it as a teacher for my 40th birthday. It was a game changer for me in my teaching career. I am a complete space nerd; have been since I was a kid. My family tolerates me! I did make it to see a launch one summer. It was the only thing that topped my space camp experience. Hubby took me to Houston for a special tour of Johnson. I could go on and on...can you tell I am a bit obsessed.
I am glad she likes science and hope she gets some great teachers.

So wonderful to have a girl interested in science. We weren't encouraged in the old days but now, the sky's the limit. I hope she continues to interested in new and wonderful things. Such a blessing.

Ladies I am glad Kendall likes math and science. I know it was not my favorite subject in school( English and History were my favs). She is already talking about going to the summer camp where you spend the night!! Hope we can make it happen for her.
