The Stream

The weather is warm this week so lets wade around in the stream and enjoy the spring like weather.

1. Daffodils are blooming in North Alabama.  What is it about these perky yellow flowers that make me smile each time I see them?

2. Only one more episode of Victoria for this season!! I have enjoyed the second season more than the first season. My favorite episode so far is the one where Albert and Victoria get "lost" in Scotland and spend the night with an old crofter and his wife.  Last night's episode was sad...the death of Mr Drummond and the return of disease for Albert's brother. For the life of me I cannot remember his name.

3. I made a Dollar Tree run on Monday and I have to say that their spring merchandise is really nice. I picked up some Easter plates and napkins for the Coffee Bar.  I found a cute little sign for the back door. I will share some of the things I purchased later in the week.

4. I also made a Publix run. Publix is a grocery store that has roots in Florida. Thanks to my blog friend, Terri at Your Friend from Florida, for telling me a bit about this chain and its owner who is very philanthropic.  Publix is a little pricier than Walmart but the stores are very clean, organized and the workers are trained in exemplary customer service.  Because the store is located so close to my home, it is much more convenient than running into town.

5. Something I am loving right now is the Young Living Stress Away Bath Bombs. I had never used a bath bomb before and I did not know what I was missing.  It is so relaxing to spend some quiet time in the tub at the end of the day. I do think it helps me to sleep better at night.

6. We are excited here in Decatur because we are getting a Chicken Salad Chick! I have never tried their food before but chicken salad is one of my favorite foods. We do have a wonderful eatery here called Java Jaay. Their chicken salad has crasins and cashews in it and they serve it on a nine grain bread that is delicious.  I think the Besties and I will give Chicken Salad Chick a try next week.

7. I would be remiss if I did not mention the passing of Billy Graham this week.  What an impact he had as an evangelist. I always admired his wife, Ruth Graham. She held down the home, allowing Billy to travel to preach the gospel.  Every time I hear the hymn, Just As I Am, I think of the Billy Graham crusades.  Another person from my childhood who has gone home.

Well the stream is a little shallow today and it is time to get on the road to Grimmwood. Maybe we can get in some porch sitting.

You are going to love Publix. It is so nice and clean and such good customer service those prices will be overlooked to shop there in many cases. My particular one has started carrying my many healthy gluten free brands too.
I never get to control the remote and watch things like Victoria to blog about. My man puts on a series like Stranger Things for me to watch. I was somehow drawn in. Not to blogworthy for people of our age:)
Oh Billy Graham... Jeff walked the aisle after one of his movies. So many people touched. What a home going!
My daffodils haven't bloomed. They are above ground though.
Enjoy that porch sitting this weekend. Blessings to you!

Thank you for sharing about the YL stress away bath bombs.I love their Stress Away essential oil but didn't know about the bath bombs. I'll have to check on that with my daughter-in-law. She sells YL and is who I order my oils from.

I have heard wonderful things about Publix from a friend of mine who lives in the south. We don't have any here in our area, but I'd love to try one.

I will make a Dollar Tree run today...just for fun and see what they have out.

Have a great day today, Arlene.

Looking forward to seeing the daffodils break through here, they bloom in April! They certainly herald Spring!!

Never saw Victoria but it's on my list to view, sounds like a show I would love.

I don't shop in Walmart at all, but I shop at Publix in Florida, it's a nice clean store and their customer service is always excellent, they must have a great training program for their employees.

I'll be sure to check out Dollar tree for some Spring D├ęcor. Have a safe trip to Grimwood and I hope you get some porch swinging time!

I totally enjoyed reading The Stream this morning, Arlene. I have heard about Publix from other blogging and stitching friends. Maybe one day I will get to visit one. I saw small daffodil shoots yesterday on the way home from getting a haircut. Enjoy your day and time at Grimmwood!

I've sure felt sad about the loss of Billy Graham....what a fine man that influenced so many! We just went to the Farmer's mkt with a quick stop at Publix. We shop the specials at Publix and get great deals. Enjoy your day! Hugs

I am glad you love your new Publix!! Wait for the BOGO sales! You can save lots of grocery dollars taking advantage of the BOGO sales. We love Publix. Our blooming trees are in full glory right now and with low humidity, it feels like Spring in Florida!

Yes I agree with sure and check the BOGO sales! Stock up then and you will not even recognize the higher prices. The stores are exceptionally well run. People go out of their way to help you there. I've been in some that are better than others I must admit but I think that has alot to do with the customers they have to deal with. Luckily the one in our town is excellent in every way.

I too was touched by the passing of Billy Graham. He had such a soft way about him...did it the right way! He will be missed however he has raised a good son that will continue his work.

I have to get to Dollar always find such good things there.

A friend recently introduced me to Young Living Essential Oils, wonder if it's the same company. I've never tried a bath bomb, you make it sound so good, guess I'll have to give them a try.

Hooray for daffodils!
I hear good things about Publix and wish we had some here.
Billy Graham touched many lives, and like you I think of him when I hear that song.
