Stitching Saturday

Market night is always fun at The Cross Stitch Peddler in Decatur,AL. The line outside the door starts forming around 5:30. I arrived at 5:50. Marvin was so sweet to drive me there and to wait in the car while I shopped.

Lots  of visiting going on as we waited. Stitchers never meet a stranger. After all we are the Cross Stitch Nation.
I met this sweet lady who reads my blog. Carol is another regular at the Peddler. I am humbled to meet someone who takes time out to read my daily doings.

Marlene is the owner Cross Stitch Peddler. Here she is on the right with one of her happy customers. If you do not have a LNS, Marlene is happy to ship orders. Just give her a call with your list in your hand.

Marlene gifts each Market Night customer with a goodie bag. Let's look inside.

These pretty flosses were in our goodie bags. Along with these...

Stitch counters and a Hands on Design Needleminder.

Marlene also included some Dove chocolates but those are long gone!

Here are some of my purchases...

I plan to stitch this for Amelia. She is a big Wizard of Oz fan.

I could not resist this one.

This was a Shepherd's Bush free pattern but you had to purchase the button.

Limited Edition threads at a bargain price. I also purchased Prairie Schooler Christmas Village. I have already stitched this but I had tossed the pattern! what was I thinking. Some of these houses will be cute stand alone pillows.

Not very new but the next in the series, Farmhouse Christmas.

For someone who cannot stitch right now, I went crazy with stashquistions. Happy Market to me.

I am afraid a home town store would be the death of me, but I would so love to have one. There are times when you just want to see it in person.

I am green with envy here Arlene!! I would love to have a store near me, especially one as great as yours! What a generous owner Marlene is to gift you with all those lovely stitching accessories. You selected some great "stashquistions"!! Amelia is going to love The WiZard of Oz stitch and I just had to add 2 more patterns you bought to my growing list of must have's! Thanks for enabling my buying obsession! You are so right, stitchers never meet a stranger!!

It looked like you had a wonderful adventure at your LNS, Arlene. What a great haul you came home with plus a goodie bag to boot! I think that is what I miss about having a local shop; getting to visit with fellow stitchers and seeing the floss and fabrics in person. Enjoy your Saturday!

How fun this would be and exciting that you met a blog follower! I love the Wizard of Art piece. Thank you for your encouragement to start blogging - it worked...I updated my blog. Thanks for not giving up on me.
Blessings to you this Sunday, Mildred

Looks like such fun, Arlene. But I am not a stitcher, it makes me cross-eyed and crabby! But I have several pieces made by a dear friend. She was working on a set of English cottages for me when she died. I have the first cottage, in progress, displayed in its stretcher frame/bars (whatever it is called) with the needle stuck in it.

Oh, you are so lucky to have a nearby shop, Arlene! I love what you selected and can't wait to see some of these all stitched up :) I'm really happy that you've been able to get around so well after your accident! Hope the new splint is more manageable and that you are healing well :)
