On the Road

Marvin and I were off to Memphis to visit Lee and Lanier for the weekend. We always time our trip to stop  for lunch at Borrums Drug Store on the Square in Corinth, MS.  We tried the Slug Burger, the sandwich they are known for! It is  a mixture of pork, seasoning and soy flour....fried up, served on a bun with mustard and onions. Rather like a  big Krystal burger. I tried it but next time I will opt for something else.:)

Once we were in Memphis we went to dinner at Houstons..

Lee and Lanier treated us to a wonderful dinner. We had Baby Mollie with us as we waited on our niece Sarah, to pick up her baby girl. Mollie is much cuter than this picture. She will be one year old in May.

After dinner we had dessert at my favorite place...

Muddys Bakery...I had my Prozac cupcake. ( Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting...the best cup cake ever.)

The shop is so cute and retro. All the girls working there wore scarves that made me think of the 50s.

We had such a good time eating and visiting Friday evening. Saturday was a big day as Lanier hosted a 70th birthday party for a mutual friend. No one does a party like tomorrow.

Sounds like a delicious weekend. A chocolate on chocolate cupcake would be my choice too.

Arlene, I so enjoy reading about your adventures. It sounded like you had a wonderful time. That shake looked delicious. What a fun looking bakery you had dessert. Little Mollie is a cutie.

You have the cutest restaurants and diners down South! I just love that pie garland behind you in the bakery :)
