Friday Five

1. Little Women on Masterpiece Theater. Of course it ended Sunday evening but it was a very nice adaptation of the book which has been a favorite of mine since I was a girl. Did you know that the young lady who played Jo has famous parents? Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman... As I watched Jo I thought she looked familiar. She looks a lot like her mother.  Of course tears were shed when Beth died. It always makes me cry.

2. Edgar's Bakery in Providence Village in Huntsville  made me happy this week.  I did not want to make myself a birthday cake so I opted for Chocolate Decadence  from Edgars. It was the perfect portion and it was delicious. We also picked up some of their cinnamon rolls which we shared with Amelia and her family. They were yummy too.

A picture from their web site.

3. Ok...I admit it. It makes me happy to see the fall things at Hobby Lobby.  I love the colors of fall and who does not like a pumpkin?

4. This week I attended my first meeting of North Alabama Stitchers.( Us older stitchers claimed the back table as we wanted the extra light!!)  What a neat group of ladies . I look forward to going back in July. The June meeting will take place while we are in Savannah.

5. This week when I went to do my grocery shopping at Publix, there were bouquets of spring flowers on sale for $4 a bunch. I could not resist them and I was able to get three floral arrangements out of the huge bundle.  My friend, Deborah, gave me the pottery flower container for my birthday several years ago and it is perfect for small cuttings left over from the bigger arrangements.

Your birthday dessert sounds delicious! Glad you enjoyed time with stitchers. That's a beautiful little flower arrangement in the pottery. Have a blessed day.

I can't wait for your stitching post to see what tips you picked up from the stitcher's meeting.

I enjoyed your Friday Five, Arlene. It looked like you had a good time with fellow stitchers last Saturday. Those cinnamon rolls look divine. I also enjoyed yesterday's post about the bees and Marvin. Enjoy your Friday!

Your flower arrangement looks wonderful. I am no good at all with flowers, living or plucked. Your new stitching group looks engaged and I'm sure was fun for all. You know, I have never read Little Women. I was into Trixie Beldon and Nancy Drew. I suppose I should remedy that and see just why everyone loves it.
