Work in Progress

And no, it is not my cross stitch projects this time. Although I did get a lot done on the piece I took with me to Grimmwood. I am trying to finish a project for Amelia's birthday on July 2nd. I need to make it into a pillow so I need to finish up that stitching.

A good bit of work is done on our retaining wall. Thanks to George and his hardworking crew, we hope to have steps and a wall in a week or so.

Each of these blocks weigh 40 pounds. It is no easy task to put them in place.  George has warned us that the tree inside the retaining wall might die and require cutting. I tried to get Marvin to just go ahead and take it out but he does not want to lose the shade. Men.....Brother in law, Bruce says it takes a lot to kill a sweet gum tree so we will see.

Here I am checking it out!  I am the Boss after all.

Dr G takes a close inspection.

Bruce was on his John Deere across the pond and snapped this picture.

It will look nice when it is completed.  It is supposed to rain rain rain in NoGA this week so it may slow down the progress.

I think I have a handle on this new system regarding comments. When I went to my unmoderated comments I found comments from three years ago. So if you commented on my blog and it did not show up, now you know why. I have taken care of all those comments, I am starting with a fresh slate and I will check it daily from now on!!  Just when I think I have things figured out, they change. GRR!!lol

Arlene, the retaining wall is going to look fabulous when finished. I look forward to seeing the end result along with the new stairs. I hope the rain doesn't slow things down too much.

The wall is looking good. You make a good superintendent! We have had 12 in. of rain since last week. They are reporting the river that runs thru Helen is out of its banks. We are soaked!

My ex husband was a stone is a real art!
I often wish Louis Dean would hire to have things done but he is a stubborn do it yourself kind of guy! Sooner or later he may have to cry uncle .......but not yet!

The new wall will look great! When I saw the tree trunk in that first picture I wondered if it was wise to leave it there but I guess time will tell! Can't wait to see the finished project!!
