Friday Five

1.  Ta fall wreath that I found at Ross. It will look nicer when I take it out of the box and fluff it up. Not bad for $18.  And here is another wreath I found for $11.

I have been looking for a wreath like this for my guest room for years. Ballard Designs sells something similar but for MUCH more money. There is a Ballard Designs outlet store in the north Atlanta suburbs and one day I am going to make it there.

Here is a close up. At Christmas I have a pretty wreath that I hang over the bed and that is what gave me the idea to use a wreath instead of a picture. I am slowly transitioning this room to a more neutral palette.  Yes I am using some white after I have ranted and raved about the sterile look of all white decorating.  I think it works for a guest room as you want it to be restful. The walls are painted my favorite color, Nantucket Gray by Benjamin Moore. I plan to have the Man Cave and the back stair well painted in the fall and I am going to use Nantucket Gray there as well.

2. Look what I found at The Dollar Tree this week. I love these small sizes of tacky glue and dodge podge as they do not dry out before you use it up!

3. Speaking of Dollar Tree...they now carry HALLMARK cards. I picked this one up for 50 cents!! I needed a card for a friend who lost her mother this week and I think this one is very pretty and it certainly does not look like it cost a half dollar.

4. BOC shoes...I found these at our local consignment store, Better Than Before. These shoes would retail in the $100 plus range. I got them for $20 and they are brand new! They will look very cute with jeans this winter and they are SO comfortable.

5. A sweet friend who loves fall as much as I do, dropped by my house with this happy for me, the Be  Grateful sign.  I put it on the tea cart for now.  I can always use a reminder to count my blessings.

Great finds! The wreath looks so good over the bed, and I love the shoes. The fall wreath is going to glow when you hang it, and it wont be much longer until fall, if it keeps going like it has for the last or so.
Have a great Friday!

You did find great wreaths. They can be quite pricey. I have always loved those that you found above the bed. Your bedroom looks nice with the white bedding because you have some color on the wall:) I love that color on the walls.
Those bottles of glue are indeed a good size.
I am happy to see your Sunshine on a stem back out. I can't wait to pull those little pillows I made last fall out. I am trying to hold off, but I am getting the itch. I just know I am usually sick of it by Thanksgiving though. Aren't we a mess?

What great finds, Arlene, with the wreaths, the glues, and the shoes! Your guest room looks warm and inviting. I really like the new sign your friend gave you. Enjoy your Friday!

SO many wonderful things going on in your world this week, Arlene! Both of those wreaths are just gorgeous! And I find that guest room quite relaxing. The color of our walls does make such a difference in how we feel, don't they? Our bedroom needs painting next spring. I'm going to try Nantucket Gray! The shoes you found are SO cute and they definitely will look great with jeans this fall/winter. Love your tea cart display. The doily is beautiful as well.

I love the Be Grateful sign. I've been trying to find something like that, but no success. It looks so nice with your stitching!
I love wreaths too, and you found some good ones.
I was thinking of you tonight! We went to Cracker Barrel for supper, and it always makes me think of you.

Such wonderful things for your Friday Five! I love both wreaths! and I need to look for those Dollar store buys of Modge Podge and Tacky Glue! AND the Hallmark cards! I did not know about that. It pains me to spend $$$ on a CARD! I keep thinking I should just write a personal message on a blank card instead but if I can get a card for $0.50!!! I can write a message on that! And I do have a friend who lost her son just a few days ago....
Those shoes!!! You must be living right! God blessed you big time with your Friday Fives!!!

Your guest bedroom is so pretty, Arlene! What a great idea to add the wreath. I love wreaths. ♥

I need to go to the Dollar store more often. Great finds there.

Those shoes are adorable. I've never heard of that brand before. Are they like clogs?

Arlene, you are such a good shopper. I may come to Alabama just to go shopping for Fridays with you. Love the wreaths...beautiful. Nice to know the Dollar Tree is carrying Aleen's glue and I'm very excited to know that they have picked up Hallmark cards too. Great post. RJ
