Saturday Stitching

I had a pretty busy stitchy week...

Pardon the wrinkles....I took Smoky Mountain Christmas out of time out and managed to get the sleigh and the bag of toys started.  Honestly I wish I had just stitched those two bears as they are GORGEOUS.  But I will persevere and try to get this stitch finished.

I worked a bit more on October 31 by Brenda Gervais. I love stitching with one thread. It just makes my stitches look so much neater. I changed a few things. The middle of the dress is charted for white but I decided to use one of my pretty Victorian Motto threads instead. I also gave her lime green socks. It was charted for flesh tone.

I have a small finish from the Harvest Hill Chart by Abby Rose.

I decided to just do the motif of Sunflowers so I can add it to my August Dough Bowl.  I love houses so I will keep this chart and maybe I will do one of the other houses as a small. One thing I like about modern day cross stitching, you can do what you want!! I have said this before but before I watched Floss Tube I would NEVER veer from the chart.

And where is human weakness so weak but in the LNS??? I visited Cross Stitch Peddler to pick up some floss and I came home with this...

Another Prairie Schooler that I did not own was re released. And in the background is my coffee tea dyed fabric.  I love how it turned out. I may buy more of the cheaper white fabrics and dye them myself.

I also had to have this...

Ye Old Crow Sampler by Heart in Hand. I am stitching it on my newly dyed fabric. I am also using Anchor Black for this one. I have heard many stitchers say that it produces a better coverage than DMC.  To me they are about the same. I also purchased some Anchor white and it is perfect for charts with snow. It is a brighter white.

My Made by Mama Joan bag is kitted up for today's North Alabama Stitchers meeting. I am hoping I can finish this in one day. We stitch from 10 to 5. I might be able to do it if I do not talk too much!! Happy Stitching!

Beautiful work; when do you have time to do anything else? LOL You look like me, with several unfinished pieces, and one day they will all be finished! Have a blessed day.

I love it all, but Arlene when you finally complete that Smokey Mountain Christmas you are going to be so happy you persevered. It is so pretty. The bears are pretty, but so is Santa's coat.
Enjoy today.

I enjoyed seeing your stitches this morning, Arlene -- from your finish to your WIPs. Smokey Mountain Christmas is going to be so gorgeous when finished. I love using snippets of charts. Your coffee/tea dyed fabric turned out great. I love the coloring of it. Enjoy your stitch gathering!

Arlene, you amaze me at how many projects you can work on/finish at the same time. And they all are beautiful because you do such lovely work. I can have two crocheting projects going at a time...and maybe three, but beyond that something would suffer. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work here.

You have had a very productive week!! Stitching and buying! I love, love those bears!!! It will be worth all your time to finish Smokey Mountain. I much prefer stitching with one thread too. it always looks neater to me and I'm thrifty! I love that heart in hand crow stitch, it should go faster stitching all in black. Enjoy your stitchers meeting!!

Oh Arlene, I love all of your stitching but especially Smokey Mountain. Those bears and Santa's coat are fabulous. I'm a big fan of one thread stitching also. I do almost everything in 36 and 40 ct. Keep up the great stitching as I love to see what you have done. RJ

It's so nice to see Smokey Mountain Christmas again, Arlene--I so love that piece and the fabric you chose for it! I'm another one thread stitcher--I've found I just hate anything with two threads these days. I pretty much resort to 40 ct. or one over one on 28 ct. That relaxes me, but when I use two threads, I get cranky :)

Love your new stash and that PS chart. I've had that in my stash for years but still haven't touched it. I really need to pay more attention to my "oldies, but goodies!"

Hope you had fun at the No. AL Stitchers meeting :)
