Now is a great time to pick up embellishments for Christmas Stitching or ornaments. Hobby Lobby has a whole section devoted to tiny Christmas tree decorations. I picked up the gingerbread men and the candy canes when they were 40% off.
2. Fly Overs
It was Homecoming at Georgia Tech last weekend and as part of the celebration, Navy pilots( and GT grads) did a fly over before the football game. It is always a thrill to see these big BIRDS fly by! The crowd went wild. At half time all four pilots came back to the football field to be acknowledged and under their uniforms were GT alumni tee shirts.
3. My sweet grands
It was such a blessing this year that Margaret and Baylor can attend the same school. Margaret walks Baylor to his class each morning. One of the teachers caught this sweet picture of brother and sister. Baylor is getting bigger than this big sister. Margaret was telling me that she knows each child in the special education class room where Baylor spends the day. One of the little boys calls her ARGARET. Margaret has such a sweet heart and having a special needs brother has made her compassionate to those who are different.
4. My Friend Susan
No this is not Susan but this is the skeleton she puts out each year. My grands loved it when they were younger. They would always pose with the skeleton at Halloween. I love that Susan has not lost her sense of whimsy. I look forward to seeing how she will decorate the bag of bones. Some years it is a girl, some years a guy!
5. Mellow Mushroom
Marvin and I had pizza at our favorite Decatur Spot this week and Mellow Mushroom had deoctared for the spooky season. This spider was right above our booth. It looked very realistic. Marvin and I ate at the very first Mellow Mushroom back in the mid 70s in Atlanta. So Mellow Mushroom has only good memories for us!!
And a special Happy Birthday to my better half...
Isn't he cute in his little bathing suit running on the Beach at Tybee Island about 65 years ago? He still loves the beach!
