Saturday Stitching

I am finishing up the stitching on my Farmhouse Christmas...

One half done. I did change the colors on the farm wife's boots. I thought red boots were cooler.

I found this 6 ft buffalo check garland at Tuesday Morning.  I think it will look great with the Farmhouse Christmas stitches added to it.  I am still thinking on how I will attach the ornaments to the garland.

I also started this Christmas Stitch ...Christmas Night by Heart in Hand.

I decided to add brighter colors.

I did this ornament for my daughter in law, Katy. She lost her dad when she was in college. She and her sisters were talking about how Mr Hargrove loved to sing Feliz Navidad but he only knew these two words of the song. I thought I would stitch this for Katy's tree.  It is from a Lizzie Kate chart.

I tea dyed this fabric to use on my retro ornament.

And I have these ready to finish up..

Both are from Prairie Schooler. I changed the pig to a Pink Pig as that is the kind we had on our farm and I have fond memories of the Pink Pig that was located on the roof of Rich's in Atlanta for the holidays. You could get a button that said, I rode the Pink Pig at Rich's.

Maybe by next Saturday I will have some finishes to share with you!

They are all adorable. I can't wait to see them all finished. That is so sweet of you to do the Feliz Navidad for Katie.

Oh I love the holiday patterns! I can't wait to start one. I actually worked on my Fall stitching yesterday. I gave myself a fun day and did lots of things I enjoy. Happy weekend!

Arlene, your WIPs are awesome! Love that tea-dyed fabric. Lots of pretty mottling. I'm working on the farmhouse Christmas series as well, but I'm stitching all of them together to make a pillow. (Wish me luck!) I just finished #8 the day before yesterday, so only the last square to go, then my sewing skills will be put to the test. Lord have mercy.

Love your ornaments. I should be Christmas stitching, but I can't get the Halloween bug out of my system. November will bring Christmas stitching!

Feliz Navidad came out the year I got married (at Christmastime). The song holds a happy place in my heart. Cute story about Katy’s Dad.

The white thread shows up so well against your tea-dyed fabric. I need to keep that trick in mind.

All of your projects inspire me! Thanks for sharing them with us.

Your buffalo checked garland will be a very fun way to display your Farmhouse Christmas ornaments, Arlene. I bet you can't wait to put it together and hung up for Christmas :) Love your little PS barnyard animals, too--especially the pink piggy! Enjoy your week ahead :)

What a wonderful post to read! Love the buffalo check garland! You could use twine or thin black grosgrain as the hangers for the ornaments. I enjoyed seeing all your stitches, Arlene!
