Friday Five

1. An Old Postcard

Marvin found this old post card that his father sent him in the late 50s. It is a picture of Grant Field at Georgia Tech. On the post card, Papa wrote...maybe one day you can attend this college. How prophetic!!

Marvin got his bachelors, masters and PhD from Georgia Tech.  We have been amazed at some of the treasures we have found in the things we received from Mama and Papa G.

2. Best Buds

Margaret was here over the weekend and I thought I would try to recreate this picture from their preschool days.  They are still close cousins and that makes Nana so happy.

3. Say Yes To....

I received this as a freebie in my Grove Collaborative order and I have to say I have enjoyed it so much. I keep it in the shower and give my face a good scrub with the coffee and coconut cleanser. It smells so good and it makes my skin feel good too.

4. Agatha Christie Goes to the Desert

After reading The Woman on the Orient Express, I was interested in Agatha's days with her husband in the desert, digging up history. I was able to get a copy of this book from Thrift Books. It is interesting to see one of my favorite authors in a totally different light.

5. Brunch at Bottomwood Farm

I am waiting on this chart as it sold out at 123 Stitch and I am on the email list for those interested when the chart is restocked.  Priscilla showed this chart on her You Tube  channel last week and I am sure it sold out immediately. I need this for Grimmwood. Marvin did ask how many cows do I need...well I told him I need a herd!!

Why yes, a herd indeed! I haven't even watched that episode yet, but I bet it was sold out in 20 minutes. Love the sunflowers too. That postcard is priceless. That might need a frame, and those grands are just precious. Every day with Tucker is sweeter than the day before. This Grammie has become a full fledged grandma.

I enjoyed all of your Friday Fives, Arlene, (I almost typed Nana :-) ), but my favorite one is the picture you recreated with Landon and Margaret. I have some cousins that I still have that closeness with today that started back in our early years. It does my heart good to see these two still being best friends!

The postcard that Marvin found is so neat! What a treasure to have something with his dad's handwriting!

Have a wonderful weekend. :)

Oh, I love the story about Marvins's dad writing that on the postcard. When I was very young my grandfather took me for a walk and we walked by the Nassau County Courthouses. He told me it would be a good place for me to work..I always look back on that day because I did end up working in a courthouse but not that one!

Such a sweet photo of the cousins!! How nice that are still best buds.

I'm not a mystery reader but I would love that book!! I'm going to look for it at my library. I so enjoy your Friday five posts!

Marvin just might start buying real cows and giving you a herd that way! Made me smile! Those cousins are so cute and I think recreating poses like that is so fun! I enjoyed your fun five! Happy weekend!

Cute pic of the grands! Every time I see Margaret, I think how much she looks like you! I like the cross stitch!
