The Stream

Well after all the rain we have received, we might need life jackets for the Stream today!

1. My friend Diane has a new blog...Lavender Dreams I have read Diane's blog( Lavender Dreams Too) for years and last week it was wrongly taken down by Blogger. She lost ten years of blogs, photos and comments. She is working to get it restored but it is not an easy process. I feel so badly for her and it is worrisome that it could happen to any of us without warning.  Please visit her blog and encourage her today.

2. I really enjoyed stitching with the North Alabama Stitchers on Saturday. We had three new ladies join us to stitch. It is always fun to meet new stitchers in our area. We have different stitching interests but our love of stitching brings us together. We were chuckling over the fact that on Victoria on Masterpiece last Sunday evening, Uncle Leopold was stitching something in an embroidery hoop!!

3.Marvin has been trying to stay away from Sweets but Dear Daughter Amelia, showed up with Girl Scout Thin Mints. That was the end of that! He did put them in the freezer and he will make them last as long as possible.

4. Now that Marvin is feeling better we are easing into Retirement...or as I prefer to call it, The Endless Weekend.  I had to run some errands the other day and I came home to find that Marvin had folded a load of clothes and he had emptied the dishwasher.  These are the perks of retirement. Emptying the dish washer is one chore I just do not enjoy at all.  I also helped him clean his man cave so that he could see what needed to be done each week so he is taking over that chore as well. Go Me!

5. Well it is warm enough here that I am going to venture out for a pedicure today.  I really do not see the need for nail polish when I am wearing socks and tennis shoes. I think the first pedicure means spring is in sight.

6. I have to be a bragging mama for a minute. Our son, Charles, was invited to a forum at his undergraduate university as a distinguished alumni.  He gave a talk at one of the forums and he said it was fun to be back on the campus where he had many good memories.  He is writing his dissertation and teaching English at Georgia Highlands College. Hopefully we will have another Dr Grimm in 2020.

Well that is about all that is in my brain this morning.  Hope everyone has a good week!

Congratulations to Charles!
I am glad Marvin is feeling better and finding things to do. Hopefully, the man cave will keep him busy and he will find a hobby in the process.
The thing with Diane has me really thinking about the blog. I had heard that before...can't remember where I read it, but it didn't stick since it was a personal thing.

Thank you so much for letting our blog friends know where I am and what's going on with Lavender Dreams. It's been a nightmare trying to get help. But I appreciate the support and encouragement from my blog friends. What a difference that makes. I don't feel bad like I did last week! I feel hopeful!! Enjoy your day sweet lady! Hugs, Diane

Retirement is wonderful, isn't it? We had a rough start to our retirement days because of my husband's eye surgeries...just as you and Marvin had a rough time to go through with his back...but once you get past those sort of things it is wonderful! I love your name for it...The Endless Weekend!

Well done, Charles!

I feel bad for your friend Diane at Lavender Dreams. I read about that on another blog last evening. It is scary the things that something like that can happen to any of us.

I resisted the Girl Scouts at Publix this past weekend but it was not easy passing them by. I love the thin mints. Back in "my" day, the cookies were 50 cents a box. I know they are at least $4.00 a box now (if not more). It is good that Marvin is picking up some of the chores!! Hooray! I am always thankful when Joe has taken the initiative to help. Enjoy that pedicure!

So shocking to read about Diane's blog, Arlene--I sure hope things work out and her blog is fully restored. That is downright scary! I'm glad I have my blog printed into book form--it will always be with me that way...

I'm watching carefully as Marvin eases into retirement! My husband is cutting back his hours this summer and (I hope!) fully retiring in mid-2020.

Congratulations to your son!

I just ran out to the mailbox in the sprinkling rain and was rewarded with a sweet card from you! How thoughtful of you to write and care so much. I know you understand how bad I've felt this past week! Thank you so much for the card...and your friendship! Sweet hugs, Diane

That is terrible that Diane lost her blog and scary too.

Thin mints are my favorite too. They are hard to resist.

George likes to unload the dishwasher too for some reason. I say more power to a guy that wants to do it. RJ
