Friday Five

1. My new garden flag from Tuesday Morning... Don't forget today is the last day to comment for some fun goodies.  I have been blown away by the participation. Check back on Monday for the winner

I love that the rain boots are holding flowers. Rain boots have been the shoe of necessity as of late.

2. My Leopard Slip Ons

Who says Nana's can't have snazzy shoes?

3. Sewing pins

I needed some new pins for hand sewing and I picked up these fun spool  pins at Hobby Lobby.

4. Longaberger recipe basket for Grimmwood

How many times have I needed a particular recipe while cooking at the little house? I got this beauty from eBay for a great price.

5. Where the Crawdads Sing.....finally a good book to read. We are doing this one for our Glens Book Club this month. It is a Reese Witherspoon Book Club selection.

Your leopard slip ons are gorgeous. As to your daily question, I am not sure I would change my name at this point in my life. When I was younger, I wanted to have a different name. Something like Cindy or Sherry; just something that sounded cuter or sassier. My name is Belynda (spelled with a "y") and I think it fits me. My mom named all four of her children with names that start with a "B". She told me that if she hadn't chosen "Belynda", I was going to be named "Bernadette". I could see myself as a Bernadette, but I think she made the right choice. These questions were a lot of fun!

I love those cute sewing pins! And I started to read that book and couldn't get into it. Maybe I should try again. Hugs!

PS I think it would be easier if I changed my first name to my middle name! lol Hugs!

I love your flag! I am looking forward to Spring, so I can put things out on my little patio.
If I could change my name, I might pick Agatha or Maggie.

Love the shoes, Arlene! Please share the maker/brand with us! The book, Where the Crawdads Sing, I have been seeing quite a bit around the internet. Guess I should add it to my list! Your Longaberger basket looks super and know you will be happy to have it at Grimmwood. Your new garden flag looks great. Do you have one at Grimmwood? Enjoy your Friday!

Hi, Arlene! Happy Friday!

Cute shoes! I have a pair of leopard-spotted sandals - Crocs if you can believe they make cute shoes - and I get soooo many compliments on them. So be prepared for a lot of positive attention in those shoes!

Those pins are adorable. I have not been to Hobby Lobby since October 2018. It's not far, but it's in a busy part of town I rarely visit on my own. I have been craving some retail therapy, so I may have to go soon.

Friday's question - hmmm, that's a toughie! If I were born a boy, I would have been named Michael, and my parents were so sure I was a boy that they didn't have another name for me picked out. I went without a name for a day or two, and I was finally named after my mom, my grandmother, my great-grandmother, and perhaps even her mother. People assume I go by "Megan" when they hear my name is Meg (I don't). I wanted to be called Margie when I was in fourth grade - temporary insanity if you ask me. I'm quite happy with Meg, so I hope that still qualifies as a good answer to your question! :-)

I am going to copy you on two things. I said I was cutting back on spending, but I seriously need those shoes for spring. I am going shopping this weekend. AND I need that recipe box. I have my eyes peeled for that too. I have a funny story about Longaberger that I should write about one day:)
I have the Crawdads book by my chair now. I should start it soon.

Love your little spring flag, Arlene. So cute! And yes, who says that Nanas can't have snazzy shoes indeed! Very cute. I love your new pins for hand sewing! They are adorable. I seriously need to consider a trip to Hobby Lobby. Good for you for scoring a good buy on the Longaberger recipe basket for Grimmwood! Have a wonderful weekend, Arlene.

Emma would be the name I'd choose if I could have named me. :)

Cute welcome flag for spring! If I could change my first name, it would be to Paula which is what my dad wanted to call me but mom nixed it. Love your snazzy slip-ons!! Longaberger baskets are just the best! Your new recipe basket will be great to have at Grimmwood!!

Such fun to read this post! Love your flag and your shoes and your recipe basket!

When I was younger I often wished for a different first name, but I'm not sure what name I would have picked instead. Sometimes I wished that my parents had given me Jane, my middle name, as a first name.

Pretty garden flag. Love the spool pins too. I always thought I'd like to have been named Alice rather than Joyce.

Oh, what a fun five! I just love those sweet spool pins. Was just at a Hobby Lobby when I was in FL--wish I had seen your post then :)

Hmmm...I've always liked my "old-fashioned" name of Carol as it means "song of joy" in French :) But, if I changed it, it would probably be Megan or Erin or Becca. Those were the names I would have named a girl if I had been lucky enough to have one :)

I love all your things! From the shoes to the flag to the basket and the book!! Winners all!!!

If I could change my name, I would be named Johanna in honor of my grandmother who I never knew.
