Saturday Stitching

I had one finish this week!

Thanks to Dena at Half Stitch Cross Stitch on You Tube for keeping me company while I finished this piece by Brenda Gervais.  I managed to finish this up yesterday. And let me just say, if you are having problems with your corners, watch the video Chelsea and Priscilla did while visiting the Fat Quarter Shop.  It was very informative.

You can find this metal bucket at Hobby Lobby. It was $15 but I used my 40%off coupon.

I like the fact that it is red so I can use it for Christmas. Also, it only requires one magnet on the back of your stitching as it will attach to the metal. I have found with my earth magnets that it is best to add a washer to the piece, then glue on the magnet. Those magnets are SO strong. I had to watch a video on You Tube to find out how to slide those suckers apart!

Here is my finish. I purchased my flags at Hobby Lobby but the Dollar Tree has them for a better price...not sure of the quality however. I picked up two packs at HL for $4. Each pack had four flags in it. I also added some red and blue crinkle paper I had on hand to hide the styrofoam holding the flags. I had to add some newspaper to the bottom of the bucket to lift the flags up where I wanted them to be. Crafting is a lot of trial and error.

My kitchen hutch is looking very patriotic.

I found two of these candle holders at Yesteryears of Tennga the last time I was at Grimmwood. I knew they would be perfect for my drums.

I also worked on all my WIPs this week.

I added the church to Thistle Hill.

I have to admit that this is one of my favorites.

Just a little work on this one.

Not much more to do on this one.

Another Abby Rose Design.

Another quick stitch.

My June Word Play by Brenda Gervais. I am changing some of the flosses.

Brenda's style is a bit more Prim than my own tastes.

Joshua's birth sampler.

And my last patriotic stitch...

Where Liberty Dwells...I am changing almost all of the colors on this one.

I am doing black eyed Susans versus the charted Daisies.

I did order this floss pack from The Fat Quarter Shop and I have used it on Long May She Wave.

It was nice to have some patriotic colors that I could use  on several different charts.

My only haul this week was this bag...also from The Fat Quarter Shop.

My stitching friend, Sandy and I have decided we are the Real Housewives of Cross Stitch...Flora Bama. :)

Once my Patriotic stitches are done I will be moving on to Fall pieces. Also I plan to participate in Jolly July with Chelsea and Priscilla. I have a basket full of Christmas ornament charts that I hope to finish in July. It really will be Christmas in July!

I love the patriotic designs! And the flags and red bucket are neat in your decorations! I haven't decorated much this year. I've concentrated on cleaning. Maybe I'll get with it today! Happy weekend!

Great minds really do think alike. This has been the week where I felt the need to stitch on multiple things which is really out of my wheelhouse, but I just needed to see progress on those WIPs. I guess I will have to do a similar update post. I watched Dena too while doing all that work. I think she motivated me to do some on several projects. I love your patriotic finish. I am going to try and whip out that July 4th one this week. Need some instant gratification. I truly love your Thistle Hill. I think it is going to fit in nicely with your other Christmas stitching. All of your stitches are so cute. I definitely think the Real Housewives of Cross Stitch of FloraBama fits us well! Have a wonderful weekend.

Congratulations on your finished finish, Arlene! I love how you finished it off and your hutch is looking great. You have made some good progress on your WIPs. What thread are you using for the words in the Word Play piece you shared? Very pretty! Enjoy your Saturday and weekend!

Your latest finish is so darling, Arlene--I do love patriotic stitching so much! Probably my favorite after Christmas :) I think I may just have to buy that darling Abby Rose Design--that little lady is so cute!

Really love the sampler you've chosen for Joshua--have not seen that before. If I am EVER lucky enough to be blessed with a grandchild, I'll have to remember this one :)

Have a wonderful Saturday, Arlene!

You are such an amazing stitcher, so many projects! They’re all beautiful, I love the patriotic decorations, but Joshua's Birth sampler is my favourite of all!

Hey! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could get a captcha plugin for my comment form?
I'm using the same blog platform as yours and I'm having problems finding one?
Thanks a lot!
