Five Years Ago

I thought I would look back five years and see what was happening at Nanaland.

Our precious Baylor Man was diagnosed as Autistic. A truly earthshaking time in our family. We were filled with questions and fears. Do we have any answers now? Not really. Ben and Katy take a day at a time. They make sure Baylor gets his therapy. They advocate for him at every turn.  But really now we realize that answers would not change the situation. We must trust God for the future of this young man. He will be starting second grade this week. Please pray for him as he returns to school.

Here is a picture that came up and I love it so...

Grandpa and his boys....Look at that smile!!  Life is good!

Oh Arlene, love the picture of Grandpa and his boys. The first one of Baylor makes me smile. Autism isn't an easy syndrome because it isn't a "one size fits all" type of diagnosis. While some characteristics are similar, each individual with autism is just as unique as their non-disabled peers. I will be praying as Baylor begins his school year. I pray that he has a wonderful year of growth and happiness.

It's so good to have better info for the children now. It helps in being able to get the help they need and a good education too. How many boys (especially boys) were put in the back of the room to struggle along when people didn't know what was troubling them. What precious grandkids you have! Hugs!

God bless him!! He really has come a long way and I know life will become much better for him as he grows up and continues learning with his loving family and supportive therapists. Our Pastor's wife teaches a special class for autistic children at one of our local Christian schools. Thanks for sharing the look-back!!

What a lovely smile Baylor has. He's cute as a button. I'm sorry he has autism, but it sounds like he's blessed with a very loving and supportive family, and I agree 100% with what Lavender Dreamer said.
