A Back Yard Post

Katy shared a lovely post on Facebook, praising Ben for putting this fort together for Baylor.  Their old swing set had seen better days and Baylor loves swinging so it was time for a new one. Katy said when the set arrived and she saw all the pieces, she dissolved into tears. It was a formidable undertaking. Enter Super Dad...better known as Ben. I am so proud of my oldest son for tackling this project. And thanks to his friend, Jeremy Rickman for helping with  the slide.

Looks like both the Brothers Grimm are enjoying their new toy. As you can see Baylor is covering his ears as he sometimes does when he is overwhelmed. Hey some days I feel like covering my ears as well!:)

The swing Saucer is perfect for our spectrum boy. And that wild man named Elliott loves swinging high!! He goes full tilt all day long.

Thanks again to all of you who remember Baylor in prayer. I was telling Katy that I really admire her and Ben. They live a pretty restricted life but they live it well...doing what is best for all three of their children. When you have a special needs child, it is hard.  Ben and Katy back each other up and still find many things to be grateful for and to smile about. That takes an every day courage!

What a wonderful play set and it looks like it was a big job to construct! They look to be enjoying it a lot! I smiled when I saw the hands covering the ears, Our Gracie does the very same thing, such a beautiful family, happy and living a good life!

It does take a special person to do what they do day in and day out. I love the jungle gym. IT won't be long before little Tucker will need something like this. He is moving everywhere these days. He is unsure about walking. He cruises the coffee table and was standing on his on the other day, but as soon as he realized it was back holding on to me.
I pray Baylor will grow and learn new things each year.

When I was young, my mother used to tell me that I should find a guy who is handy. My Dad couldn't screw in a light bulb! I'm very lucky because my guy can cook and is handy. Go Ben! That looks like quite a job!

What a fabulous looking 'swing set' Ben put together. It already looks well loved by the boys. Continuing to pray for Baylor along with his family.

You have every right to be proud of your son and his family. They are good role models and really have their priorities straight.
It just swells my heart when you do featured posts on them.

Well done, Ben! He and Katy and the family are in my prayers. Of course I am praying especially for Baylor, but I do pray for strength and wisdom for the rest of the family in doing all that must be done to accommodate his needs. You're so right -- every day courage is what it takes. They have it, and it is such a blessing to observe!
