1. The Autumn Foliage
I snapped this photo near Bridgeport Alabama en route to Grimmwood. A lot of our leaves are turning brown and falling to the ground due to lack of rain. We got a very nice shower this morning so maybe it will help with the color. Our peak is usually just before Halloween.
2. An Autumn Mantle
I went to see my Aunt Joyce last week and I got a tour of her pretty fall decorations. Every room and the front porch are decorated for the season. See I told you it runs in our family.
3. Autumnal Mugs
Aunt Joyce gifted me with four of these pretty mugs that declare, Happy Fall. They are on my open shelving at Grimmwood.
4. Autumn Apples from Ellijay
We made a trip to Ellijay the Apple Capitol of Georgia to pick up some in season apples. I chose September Morning.( Linda Chapman...I thought of you!!) I brought them home and made apple sauce. It was easy peasy. Get out your crock pot. Peel and chop 12 large cooking apples. Add them to the crockpot along with 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and a splash of lemon juice. I used two drops of my Young Living Lemon Essential oil in mine. Cook on high for 4 hours or until the apples are soft. Transfer them to a mixer and beat with the paddle until it looks like applesauce. I like mine a little chunky. I was able to take some to the Johnsons, our wonderful neighbors and I had plenty for me and Marvin.
5. Autumn Guests
Look carefully and you will see a doe and her yearling in the woods along our driveway at Grimmwood. Marvin said they were standing in the driveway as he was leaving for the gym the other morning. Sis Kristi says they were in her yard when she got home from work. At least it was not a bear!!
