Friday Five

1. The Birthday Boy

Landon turned 11 and as you can see, he loved basketball so that was the theme of his cookie.

2. A Picture from Cousin Scott

A view of Fort Mountain from Scott's drone. It was shown across the internet this week. Grimmwood sits at the foot of Fort Mountain.

3. A Good Read

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is quirky but in a good way. Set in Scotland it tells the story of a young girl who faces tragedy but overcomes. Reese Witherspoon bought the movie rights so I am hoping it will be on the big screen one day.

4. Dessert

I had some friends over and I needed a dessert. I found everything I needed in the pantry. I even cooked it in my big black skillet. I do not like Cherries but one of my nursing school friends suggested using pecans in the middle of the pineapple.. I will do that next time.

5. Publix Gift Card

I got my flu shot this week at Publix and I received a $10 Publix gift card. That was a win win for sure. I got my shot at Target last year but they only give a $5 gift card. :)

A Happy Birthday to Daughter in Law, Katy....hope it is a good one.

Please, tell your friend thank you for the idea of pecans in the pineapple rings for your upside down cake. I will certainly give it a try:) That photo is stunning! And, happy birthdays to your family members. Thank you so much sharing:)

Happy birthday to Landon! I think it would be so interesting to own a drone, would love taking aerial pictures. Your cake turned out so pretty, hope your party was a big success.

We got our Publix gift cards here, too! What a bonus! I haven't made a pineapple upside-down cake in forever. We do like the cherries but pecans are a good idea when you don't have the cherries in the cupboard! Cousin Scott's photos are always beautiful! It looks like Landon had a good birthday celebration!

The drone photo is gorgeous!!! We have been driving through the Great Smokie Mountains this week and saw similar scenes (from the road, of course).

Looks like a very happy birthday party!!

Oh, I need to make a pineapple upside down cake again--it has been YEARS! That was one of the few things I knew how to bake when we got married so it got made a lot :) Love that photo of Grimmwood land!
