Friday Five

1. Posture Bra

I am going to spare you a picture of my new bra but I have to say kudos to Playtex for their posture bra. This bra has a little brace at the back that helps us ladies of a certain age stand taller. The bra opens in the front, making the back panel placed in the right position to remind you to stand up straight. I also like that the straps are wider, which is much more comfortable.  Katie, at Preppy Empty Nester shared a device she has been using to help her posture. But I knew I would not wear an additional undergarment so this works for me.

2. Trees are blooming in NoAla

I snapped this picture on my walk the other day. And that glare in the upper left is the sun. We have so seldom seen it this month, we needed a reminder of the color of the sky. It was a bright blue and temps in the upper 60s. However it did not last long as it is raining....AGAIN. I told someone we should have had Rain Men instead of Snow Men here in Alabama.

3. Another blast from the past

I think this picture was made in 1990.

4. Kendall

My anime loving granddaughter. She and some of her friends dressed as their favorite characters for the Birmingham Hamacon. I probably got that wrong as I have no idea how to spell any of these I think she makes a pretty blonde.

5. Grimmwood update

Since I got a new fire stand for the fireplace in Decatur, this one made its new home at Grimmwood.

I just want to thank everyone who commented on Wednesday's post....I loved reading all your own memories of special times as a child.

I’ve saw that bra on Pinterest,, it sure makes us stand good and tall, opening in the front is always a good thing, beats struggling to do it up in the back, I don’t think Ive ever owned a bra that does up in front but sounds amazing, 😊, your grand daughter is beautiful in her costume, have a great weekend!

Kendall is a cutie, Arlene. What a pretty day you had for your walk! Look at those blossoms on the tree, so pretty! What memories you have from the blast from the past pictures! I hope you have a fabulous Friday.

I have always said when I saw those trees blooming spring was right around the corner. We shall see if it holds true. I spotted you right away in the blast from the past.
I need to check out the bra. I hate that is so much harder these days to keep those shoulders up.

Yes, I need to check out that bra too. I really struggle with my posture and am older than both you and Sandy. It would be nice if something so simple could help.

I spotted you right away in the blast from the past photo too. Nice family pic.

How nice that the trees are blooming ... they are a long way from that here, but I did see a chipmunk the other day. They hibernate so I am not sure what he was doing out and about.

I didn't get to comment on Wednesday's post, but I want to go back and do so. Even though we lived in the country, there was a corner store we were allowed to bike to, so I have some relevant memories!

Somehow Preppy Empty Nester got dropped from my Feedly. How have I not missed her? Fun old photo and the fireplace at Grimmwood looks great! Kendall does make a cute blonde, all dressed up for the convention. I'm sure she and her friends had fun!

Thank you for the recommendation on the Playtex product. I may look into it. Where did you buy yours?

Kendall is a cutie for sure. I wish the old rain would stop and the flooding would go away and wishing for spring. After seeing your picture I want it even more. Love the fire screen!

I love the fireplace!
I'm ready for Spring, but it's snowing here...

Hi Arlene! I'm going to check out that playtex bra. I like the sound of it. The flowering tree looks so pretty and perfect for your walk. Kendall looks adorable. Love that photo from the 90's. And, what a great firescreen for Grimmwood. RJ
