The Return of the Bunnies

I am really looking forward to March, longer days and warm sunny spring days. What is a Nana to do when it is continually dark and dreary? Time to bring in the bunnies.

I found this melamine bunny platter at Tuesday morning for $7. It hopped into my cart? What could I do but bring it home. The carrot dish is an old Hallmark purchase and it is filled with fake cookies. The Bunny pillow on the left is a Prairie Schooler Bunny.

Here is the BIG bunny! He was a gift from my friend, Terry. She was moving and had to get rid of some of her holiday decorations so she asked if I wanted THE BUNNY....any Veggie Tales fans out there? You may remember the Veggie Tale rendering of the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abegno . named Rack, Shack and Benny. The Veggies were working in a candy factory and Mr Nezzar, their boss told the boys that they had to bow down to the giant chocolate bunny . They were told to worship THE BUNNY.  I think  of this every time I bring my big guy down from the attic. Clearly Veggie Tales were aimed at children, their parents and grandparents.:)  I put up my March Prairie Schooler piece along with my recent finish March Hoopla.

Old favorites made for my three Grimmlins by their Aunt Mina. I found the egg cups at Cracker Barrel and they are perfect for these glass eggs. They sit up high out of the reach of little hands.

My wooden bunny is on top of the kitchen hutch this year.

Mr and Mrs Benjamin Bunny sit on my buffet. Candle rings are by Valerie Parr Hill and I purchased them on QVC several years ago.

Another small Prairie Schooler Bunny.

One thing I do have to say about these bunnies is that they make me smile when I see them. They are just so cheerful and the spring colors perk up a dreary rainy day.

Arlene, I love how you brought Spring into your home with all your bunny displays. The St. Patrick's vignette is so sweet, great idea to put the clover ribbon around the bunny's neck. Those little eggs in the egg cups are so sweet.
I can see why the bunny plate jumped into your cart. You certainly inspired me to put some Spring Decor together.

Love your bunnies. We used to own a small family Hallmark Store...Burke's Hallmark...I decorated the store and our home with bunnies...so cute. My twenty boxes of decorations have dwindled to one now...all the others live in my kids' homes or those of friends...Precious Moments...Jim Shore...hundreds of ornaments...I still buy Hallmark ornaments for the grands though.
Love your blog, as always...

Oh Arlene! I love your bunnies, each and every one of them. Seeing your PS bunnies reminds me that I should stitch some of them up. That big bunny from your friend is a knockout and looks quite dapper with his bow. Thank you for giving us a tour of your bunnies!

I agree! I've been working so hard to get rid of clutter that I haven't planned to decorate for Spring. You just changed my mind! Bunnies? And ducks? And pretty pastel bunnies! I think I'll get the box down so that I can keep smiling! Love your BIG bunny and those cute houses you got at Cracker barrel! Hugs!

Arlene, you really brought a smile to my day. I love bunnies, all year round, I don't think I have enough of them. But, what made me laugh was the "Veggie Tale," story. I will never look at a chocolate bunny the same...We just finished studying Daniel in Bible Study. I knew about Veggie Tales but really never got into them. My children were older when they came out. Anyway, that you for starting my day with laughter:)

I love bunnies and every single picture made me smile and want to run and get my box down. I have had such a busy beginning to the week, but I have them on my mind and am ready for some happy bunnies to hop on out down here as well. I might have even ordered a new bunny. More about him later.
I love the little stitches. Those PS stitches are just classics. I need to have a year of PS one of these days. It is looking very springy at your house and I am ready for it here!

I, too, love bunnies, Arlene, so I thoroughly enjoyed this post. I am planning to get mine out next week, too--really can't wait for spring. I am counting the hours until the time change in early March and longer days begin :)

I love The Bunny! I also love Veggie Tales. Now I have The Bunny song in my head - "The bunny, the bunny, I love the bunny..."

We still have all the Veggie Tales DVDs, did you know they had to re-do the song because of complaints? The original said "I don't love my mom or my dad, just the bunny..". Apparently kids were singing it in public and a bunch of parents got upset about it!🙄❄🤣
