Saturday Stitching

Good Morning all my stitchy  friends.

I have had a busy week here at Nanaland...finishing and stitching!

Here is the piece I showed last week. Well I got it finished this week.

I did use the fat quarter I purchased at Patches and Stitches.  A yo yo finished it off perfectly. I did update my bedroom dough bowl by adding some bunnies and eggs. I tossed this little small in the bowl to get a photo.

Here it is with Leta's piece...both are in my Grimmwood 31 bag waiting to go into the dough bowl there.

Easter Sampling by Lizzie Kate.

Stitched on Aida but with a pass the stash chart so I was missing the bunny charm. I added a dragon fly from my stash. Another thank you to Mary and RJ as this was in my Giveaway package. This looks big in this photo but it is actually about 3 by 3.

I found this at Hobby Lobby for just 49 cents in their 75% off aisle.

I picked up two as I knew I would find a use for them.

Ta Da!

I also finished Easter Hoopla...

I considered doing a different finish for this but Hoops just suit the hooplas and it is a super easy finish.

I put it in the bedroom dough bowl but I will move it to the breakfast bar after St Patrick's day is over.

My last finish...

I know some people do not like this saying as they don't think it is accurate. And by no means do I think my needle and thread could ever take the place of God in my life but I do find needlework to be a time of silence and contemplation. Often when I am stitching, God brings to my mind someone who needs prayer or something more concrete that I should do for someone. I am learning to listen to those nudges and act on them. So yes, the beauty and solitude of stitching connects me to God.

I had purchased a little box at Hobby Lobby and I thought it might be perfect for this piece.

In case you want to look for this product.

I painted the bottom of the box a dark green.

I am displaying it on the table that belonged to Mama G.  I am not sure what I will hide in this little box....Jelly Bellys perhaps?

My friend, Karla, passed this stash to me.

That Bee Happy will be going to Grimmwood! Love those cheery colors.  I had to go to Hobby Lobby for DMC floss the other day and I picked up two more of the small three by three Easter signs. They were on sale for 40% off. They are such a great size for small finishes, you can't go wrong when you grab a few!

Enjoyed seeing your stitching and I can see how the quiet time would be time to talk to God and remember those that need prayer or help in some way. I esspecially liked the little box that you painted the bottom green. You are so talented in so many ways.

I really enjoyed seeing your finishes today, so many great ideas. And, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Cross stitching does quiet us long enough to listen to and talk to God. Thank you so much for sharing:)

Where to start? I enjoyed seeing each one of your stitches in finished form. Your Hoopla turned out super. Did you brighten up your colors or did you use the called for threads? Thank you for sharing your thoughts about that verse/quote. If I am stitching something as a gift, I think about and pray for the intended recipient. If I am stitching something for myself, I tend to pray and talk to the Lord. Have an enjoyable weekend and don't forget to set your clocks ahead!

The fabric used for that little house with the yo-yo is really cute! I'm saving your picture for my future reference. Enjoyed EVERYTHING in this post. I'm running here, trying to catch up so this is brief. Just love your stuff!!!!

I am a bit late reading your Saturday stitching post, but it was as enjoyable as always. Love the little finish with the yo-yo. I've made several like that and they are just so perky and cheery looking :) You did a wonderful job on the little box, too, Arlene. Jelly Bellys sound like a perfect thing to tuck inside.

Hope you're having a great week! ♥
