Savannah Style

My cousin, Dewilla, and my sister in law, Mina have become a biker gang.

They may kill me for this post but I think they both look pretty snazzy on their three wheelers. And if I lived in Savannah I would get one of those trikes and join them.  I think I would want a teal colored bike so I would not clash with their colors.  Savannah is a good place for riding as it is flat and you can see long distances. However, Summertime is brutal. November is just about perfect weather wise there

Dewilla told me that they pass this grapefruit tree on their rides and the lady who lives at that house told them to help themselves to grapefruit

The gals  can reach the fruit on the lower branches with no problem. They need Marvin to come and help them with the higher branches. When I showed Marvin this photo he said he did not remember anyone having citrus fruit trees when he was growing up in Savannah.  Here is proof that there are some there. You will notice both Mina and Dewilla have some grapefruits in their little carry baskets on the back of their bikes. Fun times riding and free grapefruit...what more could you want on a sunny day in Savannah?

You can find Dewilla's blog, A Southern Lady on my Blog Roll.

And before I close I must wish a happy 11th birthday to my grand girl, Margaret.  I cant believe she is 11 years old and she is sweet as pie.

Made back in February before Covid hit...seems like it was years ago!!

Love the bikers and like you if I lived there would have fun joining in with them. That is neat about the grapefruit. Your little grand is a doll. Stay warm.

HA! Thanks for the post. Tell Marvin that we see lots of citrus trees on our rides. There are quite a few lemon trees and some orange trees. This grapefruit tree has lots of fruit on it. There is also a big pecan tree in that yard, and there is one in the yard across the street. So, we can get pecans AND grapefruit at one place! The people at both houses told us to come get those pecans anytime. With the high price of pecans in the stores, the invitation to pick up fallen pecans is hard to resist!

Arlene, you really brought a smile and a bit of a chuckle to my day. I loved your blog today. I have only been to Savannah once, So I could somewhat imagine what riding a bike in that beautiful town would be like. So much fun. And a very special birthday to Margaret. She has such a beautiful smile. Have a blessed day my friend:)

You would make a perfect trio on the trike. I love it that they are riding them. That is great exercise. I honestly need to ride my bike more. Fresh grapefruits are the bomb too. Little Miss Margaret is growing up fast.

I think the bikes are cute too - and grapefruit is a nice bonus.
