Feeling Fancy

Since I can never post pictures of the teens, I am taking this opportunity to post one of Kendall. She went to a dance at the local country club last weekend. Some of the mothers from the high school put this socially distanced dance together for their teenagers.

Kendall is the one with pink hair.  As a Nana, I think she is beautiful no matter the hair color but I am hoping this is a phase and that one day she will let her mom take her to the salon for a blonde or auburn color.  But as a seasoned Mom, I know NOT to mention this at all because then it becomes an instant NO!!

Landon was teasing Kendall about going to the country club. Here he is showing us all how to be fancy. Note the raised Pinky Finger. Frankly we are not the country club types but we can put on with the best of them!

And another picture of Landon wearing his new Russian Hat. He is ready for cold weather.

I am so glad I raised my children in the dark ages before cell phones. Seeing all the new challenges parents must deal with in raising teen agers reminds me to keep praying!

They are very cute! I wouldn't mind a streak of pink or lavender in my hair! If I had teens close by, they would probably do that for me! Hugs! (it would look great in your pretty hair too!)

Both Kendall and Landon are so cute. I am quite sure it is a phase. I think the best policy is not to make to big a deal about it. She will come around when the time is right. That Landon with his pinky out. Reminds me of Paul Allen. His humor was amazing but mostly safe for family. I sincerely can't even imagine raising kids in the day and age of cell phones. We shall remain praying grandmas.
I am with Diane, I wouldn't mind a touch of pink or blue in my hair. Wouldn't I be something?!

I am right there with you.....my 15 year old had her whole hair dyed purple yesterday. I do hope it is a passing fad. Hers is pretty but she had pretty hair before. Have a nice Monday. I do like that hat Landon is wearing!

Arlene, thank you for sharing the pictures of Kendall and Landon. They are both cuties. Landon made me laugh out loud with his pinky in the air. One of my former teaching pals streaked her hair; at the beginning of COVID, she had royal blue streaks and late summer, she went with pink.

Gosh, those two are just growing up so fast! Kendall is lovely, even with her pink hair, and Landon is a typical brother! Both are lovely and I know they are just as lovely inside. Hope she had fun at the dance! xo

What pretty dresses the girls are wearing! I actually found a never-used 1950s vintage tablecloth at my parents' home -- it resembles very much the print and colors of Kendall's dress. So pretty!

My oldest grand (19) has had her hair a number of different colors over the years. She looks lovely in any color, just like Kendall. Of course I prefer a more natural look personally.

Landon is so funny with the raised pinkie. You can see just from his face in both photos that he has quite the sense of humor.

Cute pictures! I can see that Landon is a character and would make me laugh.
Pink hair is all the thing nowdays and you are right to not mention it because as you say, that would make it stay all the longer. :)

I just love both photos of Landon, he is quite the character!! The girls looks so pretty in their dresses...where are their masks! My niece had pink hair for awhile, thankfully it's a stage. I've been dying my hair since 27 because of early graying...I would never think of doing all that work and expense if I didn't have to. I truly think we had much better childhoods than the kids today, far too much technology that keeps them from developing relationships.

They took their masks off for pictures at home before going to dance.

Hi Arlene, I always enjoy the pics of your grands. And, Landon always makes me smile. But, this time Kindle, made my day. She has the most beautiful smile. Have a great day my friend.

I love the girls' dresses! Colorful hair is "in". At least it isn't permanent! ♥
