Saturday Stitching

Good Morning Stitchers.... This will be a shorter post as I just have a few things to share.

I finished my exchange piece. I really wanted to keep it for myself but I will have a surprise arriving in the mail sometime in the next week and I am sure I will be glad I joined the exchange.

Here is the box I will be mailing on Monday. I added some of my person's favorite candies as well as some needle minders.  We were reminded that we should not go overboard on the boxes as we do not want anyone to feel their box was not up to snuff.  I totally get that.

I finished up Easter Parade by Blackbird Designs. I did change his little back pack because I was finding it hard to tell that the flowers were in the back pack.  Just my own little quirk, but isn't it nice to be able to alter charts to suit yourself? Now I have two bunnies to FFO. I need to take my stitches to Hobby Lobby and see what I can find to finish these little Easter charts.

Another finish was my February Word Play....again my own color choices.  I hope to get it pinned and laced this week.  I am joining Barb at Lost in Floss for her Word Play SAL. #lostinwordplays on Instagram if you care to join us. I have enjoyed seeing all the other stitchers choices. Some stitch it as charted while others of us just go crazy.:)

I have no haul this week as I am trying to stitch on the things I have started.  I did get a stitchy kindness chart from my friend, Sandy. It is a St Patrick's day piece so maybe I can get it stitched for my dougbhbowl. Speaking of my dougbhbowl, I found a new place to display it. It sits on the extra chair in my dining room.  Now I have something to look at as I pass through my home.  This is a second dougbhbowl as  I keep one on my dresser in the bedroom. I enjoy it every day.

I have a small give away this week. My mother orders from Herrschners and she received this Dimensions Embroidery kit with her order. She does not want to stitch it so she asked if I wanted to take it home with me. Well I think it is cute but I know I will not stitch it but I thought one of you gentle readers might be inclined to stitch it. To let me know you are interested in this kit, tell me your favorite Valentine candy.  This will be available to readers over 18 who live in the continental USA.   I will announce the winner next Saturday.

I must take a moment to wish a Happy Anniversary to Ben and Katy. 12 years ago today they were married in a small ceremony at Katy's sister's home. It was just lovely. Now they are raising their 3 Grimmlins which includes our Spectrum boy. It is not easy but they handle things with grace.

Can you believe this was Kendall 12 years ago? She was one of the flower girls. Landon was just a few months old when Uncle Ben got married.
Katy, with her mom and her three sisters. They are all gorgeous ladies.  Please send up a prayer for Pat, Katy's mom. She took a fall several weeks ago resulting in a brain bleed. She is at rehab now and doing well but all prayers are appreciated. We cannot do without our Granny Pat.

Hi Arlene, I really enjoyed your blog post today. The little Easter Bunny is adorable. I love the colors you use on the word play charts, they are so cheerful. Congratulations to Ben & Katy, each year is a mile marker in our journey, I like the LHN quote, "Blessed is the life that finds Joy in the Journey." They are so lucky to have you. I want to Thank You too in an earlier blog you recommended a book, "Of Literature and Lattes." As with any series, I like to start with the first book, I have been listening to "The Printed Letter Book Shop." I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Next month I will get, "Of Literature & Lattes." I like to listen to Audible when I am stitching, I know I will listen to this one again. Thank you so much for recommending it. And, Katy's Mom is on my heart and in my prayers. Many blessings to you and yours my friend.

Everything is lovely, Arlene! I especially like how the dough bowl looks in the chair. So much fun to have that way to display small seasonal stitches.

I bit the bullet and ordered the Prairie Schooler January and February sampler charts from 123stitch. I'm fairly motivated to stitch them, so we will see! Thanks to you and Sandy for inspiring my return to cross stitch!

It's been about 2 months since I last did any cross stitch -- my life has changed so since then. But once my sewing room is put back together in its new location in this house, I hope to get back to it. In the meantime, I always enjoy seeing what you have been up to with needle in hand!!

I had to do a double look at Amelia. So pretty and little Kendall. Can we freeze time?
I can't remember what the bunny's backpack looked like, but I am guessing open. I love yours though. It looks perfect for the flowers.

Your little exchange piece is darling, Arlene--and a good idea to have small add-ons in the box. Lovely Easter bunny and I I like what you did with his backpack. And your color choices are perfect for the February word play :) I guess I should think about getting my February stitching out and on display--hard to believe this is the last week in January. Hope you have a relaxing Sunday ♥
