Friday Fun

Marvin and I took another ride across the mountain coming home yesterday and we tried a new place in Mentone, the Mentone Market.

We each had a hot sandwich. Marvin had meatball and I had Tuscan Chicken.  The little grocery area had all sorts of things. We enjoyed shopping around and I picked up a Mentone Magnet for our Magnet display at Grimmwood, along with a small notepad for my kitchen basket.

As we traveled down the mountain into Valley Head, I asked Marvin to stop at a shop called Magnolia Rose and Co. It is in a small building right on the highway. Marvin could enjoy the aroma of smoke from the BBQ place next door while I shopped. I picked up a few things there as well. The owner was the sole person in the shop and she told me she had been located in Mentone until Covid hit and she moved her store out a bit. I got a definite hippie chick vibe from the things in her store.

We have certainly enjoyed taking the scenic route to and from Georgia.

Speaking of Georgia, Cousin Scott got some pretty photos of Grassy Mountain this week.

He was even able to catch a snapshot of the fire tower at the top of the mountain. When my daddy worked for the US Forest Service he sometimes spent weekends up there looking for smoke. The whole family went up with him occasionally. I remember Daddy carrying me up as I was crying because I was scared of heights and it is a TALL fire tower.

If you need some care for your nails, cuticles and hands, try these two products. I had seen a lot about Cutemol among bloggers and bloggers I know so I ordered some. It is incredible. Just a little dab on the nails and cuticles and what a difference.

And for a bit of sweetness, here is Joshua, the heart throb of my blog.

You always have such lovely trips coming home from Grimmwood. The Mentone Market looks like a fun place-eating and shopping all in one. What a neat posistion your father had at the fire tower. I would have been crying too, I have been afraid of heights as long as I can remember. Beautiful photo of the mountain but my fav pic of the post is certainly your heart throb!!! He is precious, love his huge smile!

I love going through little towns like that and just browsing away. Your lemon pad is adorable, but Joshua takes the cake.

Joshua's happy face is contagious! What a cutie! I sure enjoy when you share the different shops and restaurants when you travel. Today they both have very inviting storefronts. I would have wanted to stop at both!
