Friday Fun

Here are some fun things I have run across this week.

When we stop to have lunch in Summerville, Ga at the Willow Tree Restaurant, we are always ready to enjoy some good food but we also like to see what The Tree looks like. They keep a big tree up year round near the cash register area. This week it was ready for St Patrick's Day.

I got another Miss Read order from Thrift Books.
This one is an early Miss Read book and I am meeting some of the characters I have come to know when they were younger. It would probably be best to read these books as they were written but they are good stand alone books as well.

I have decided this is the year I will switch from sandals to flats for the summer. I am getting old lady feet...okay I will admit it I am getting old lady EVERYTHING!!  Tom's Shoes to the Rescue.

The red pair is called Black Cherry.  These three colors should go with most of my spring apparel.

The Big Bunny is Back...

And look what magically appeared from Cracker Barrel. I did not have the lights on in this snapshot but it is totally cute in the evening with the lights shining out of the windows of the Easter House.

I changed up the dough bowl in my bedroom last week.

Birds just say Spring to me!!

I missed hearing about your meal!! I never wear sandals...I do like those shoes alot, did you order them online? And, are they try to size? If I find something I like I order it in all different colors myself. I bet your CB house looks so festive in the evening. I LOVE your birds in the dough bowl!!

I have always loved your big bunny. I am making the switch as well to old lady shoes. My toes are awful. My left foot we call a spork because they have separated something terrible. I have tried to find something like it on the web, but really nothing like mine. They don't hurt necessarily any more than usual for someone with arthritis issues but I am pondering going to a podiatrist because they may cause problems down the road. No one would be able to look at my feet and not notice. My mom is going to 86 this month and has the prettiest feet. I didn't take after her at all. Toms are comfy and cool. I have a few. I probably could use some new navy ones since I wear a lot of navy.

Mary I had a BLT with onion rings and Marvin had meatloaf! Yes I ordered these online. I just got them directly from Toms. I wear an 81/2 but I go up half a size for these shoes.

Your dough bowl filled with birds is darling, Arlene. I have been contemplating a bird bowl/basket. Lovely tree at the eatery and how fun it is decorated all year! Your shoes look comfortable; I tend to live in sneakers unless I am going someplace a bit fancier than sneakers. Glad to see the Big Bunny's reappearance! Happy Friday!

Good morning Arlene, That tree is amazing. I love your dough bowl, the birds have been wonderful this year and I keep looking at bird cross stitch patterns too. They bring me joy. Now shoes is a whole different subject. I like your Tom's shoes, but have never tried them. A few years ago I developed tendnitis, brusitis, and arthritis in one of me heels, it made walking extremely difficult. As for old woman feet, I avoid wearing sandles due to type 2 diabetes. If you are a diabetic keep your feet covered, especially in restaurants and other public places, due to the risk of infection. Doctors couldn't help my heel but I highly recommend The Good Feet Store, they rescued me. As for shoes for casual I like Easy Spirit because of the heel construction, and I can slip them on and off easily, when traveling. For dress I prefer Clarks, they give me the arch that supports my old woman feet. Loved your post today. Thank you so much for sharing.

I don't wear sandals anymore either, it's getting hard for this old lady to walk in them. The Toms will be great and comfortable. I like the St Pat's tree, very festive. The dough bowl looks great, I love the 'oldness' of it. Enjoyed visiting today, hope all is well with you.

I will occasionally wear sandals in summer but most of the time its sketchers. They are very comfortable and give enough support to my feet.
Ohhhhh, another Miss Read book! The 1st three books in the series of Fairacre arrived. Even though I've read Christmas At Fairacre, my plan was to read the rest in order but I've already ordered 3 more not in order. Did you recommend The Printed Letter Bookshop? I finished it last night and thoroughly enjoyed the read. Patty McDonald

Those Toms are so cute! I'm still wearing sandals, but I see my future. :)
I really like that Easter house and the bunny is perfect next to it.

I love skeechers as well! Yes I recommended printed word bookshop! There is another one in that series... Literature and Latte I believe is the name. Oh I am just soaking up the miss Read books right now!

Arlene, Thanks for the info about the shoes. I don't wear sandals and its so hard to find nice looking shoes for summer. I am not a shopper for clothes but I enjoy having nice shoes in good shape and comfortable!!
Standard lunch fair this trip. I find dining out in the South so much more enjoyable and varied than here unless you go very upscale adn then it costs. I eat far better for the dollar in the South. You go to the cutest places too!

I'm glad you are enjoying the Miss Read books, Arlene! I really should sit down and read them from the beginning, too.

Oh, I LOVE wearing sandals--hate having closed shoes as I never find them comfortable. Perhaps I should give the Tom's a try--those you bought are very cute. I've been wearing the same two pairs of sneakers all year since the pandemic began :) My at home pair and a cute pair of slip on Skechers on the rare occasion that I venture out somewhere. Now that we have our shots, I guess I better think about sprucing up my wardrobe a bit--ha ha!
