Saturday Stitching

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! Margie won the Up on the Housetop by The Stitching Housewives. Margie please send me your snail mail address ...agrimm55@hotmail.com. Margie is hoping March comes in like a lamb. And it did here in the south but we will probably have another cold snap or two before March 21st.

I always take something easy to stitch to Grimmwood. I just cannot concentrate to work on my bigger projects there. I think I look out the front window too much! I took my Hippity Hop with me this week. After examining my blog photo from last week, I decided to rip out the light aqua and replace it with a more vibrant turquoise. Sometimes you just have to let that frog come to visit. And I got a finish!

I am going to take out the eye and the nose on this one...they just do not seem to fit the little bunny. Now to find some nice fabric to make a pillow for the dough bowl.

I got a bit of work done on Strawberry Field by Blackbird Designs.

I changed the urn to a blue gray. I just did not like the bargello look of the charted urn. I may regret it later but it is stitched and it is staying blue gray. I am thinking of changing the fence as well.

I made a trip to Hobby Lobby to pick up the DMC floss for Though He Seemeth Sleeping by Lucy Beam. Oh the colors are so pretty. I plan to start that sampler tomorrow. I spent yesterday getting my threads and fabric ready. I decided to stitch it on a 16 count ivory.  I shared my plans for this sampler with a dear old friend who stitches and she loved it as well. I plan to pass the stash to her when I finish Though He Seemeth Sleeping. I think this particular sampler strikes a cord with stitchers right now.

My friend, Deborah, sent me a photo of Miss Bunny in her new home.

I must wish a Happy Birthday to Niece Laura today. She is 23.
Have a great week Friends....happy stitching.

Hippity Hop is adorable and I really like the bright blue...Spring should be bright and cheerful! Your Niece is gorgeous!!! Happy Birthday to her! The bunny looks right at home at Deborah's. Nice progress on Strawberry Fields.

I like that brighter blue for the bunny piece and those colors are AHmazing for the sampler. That is going to be so pretty!!! I am anxious to get through this Let Freedom Ring to start a new one. There have been so many tempting patterns.

I know just what you mean about not being able to concentrate on more complex projects when away from home, Arlene! I take very easy DMC projects with me when I travel like PS Santas and such...

Nice color changes! Isn't it funny how we've gotten braver with our color changes the longer we've stitched? When I first began back in the '80s, I would never have dared change even one color :)

Looks like you've got some beautiful projects ahead--enjoy... And have a relaxing weekend ♥

I enjoy seeing what you are working on but dont understand the language at times (not being a stitcher). Your work is always lovely. I dont know how you have time to do all you do. Have a blessed Sunday.

So glad to see your comment Mary! I was thinking of you this week!

Thanks Linda... as you know retirement gives us more time to do the things we love! I probably spend more time to stitching than I should!

Mari I am glad to say Laura is pretty inside and out!

Thank you Mary! Deborah has a lovely home and is a great decorator as well.

Yes Carol we have been liberated by Floss Tubers! I think when I saw Priscilla change things up I decided I could as well! Results can be less than we hoped for but it’s fun to try!

I started the sampler last night! Love these colors! And much cheaper on the pocketbook than fancy floss!

Arlene @Nanaland said...

Yes I just had to change it. Fortunately I had not stitched very much of the lettering!

Turquoise is one of my favorite colors so it was worth the frogging!:)

Was so in shock yesterday to see my name when I started reading your post for the day that I forgot to leave a note here to tell you Thank You and that I sent you an email with my mailing address. Have a wonderful day.
